Well up here in Canada, you hardly every hear about these mass killings or shootings compared to the USA. Obviously there are still a handful of fatal gunshots here and there but mostly gang related or domestic violence.
Our registration laws mean that anyone that buys a gun must be licensed to own a gun. If you buy it off a black market and murder someone, they can trace the gun/ammunition back to the person that originally bought it with a license and arrest them.
You can't say that laws wont do anything to decrease gun violence.
In Canada I hardly hear any stories about mentally deranged people doing anything, not even related to guns.
Maybe the US is just full of deranged people in the first place and that's why I hardly hear a peep out of most other countries.
I guess the average stereotypical picture of the US is pretty correct... If they're not fat and stuffing their faces with cheeseburgers, they're busy being criminally insane and shooting up theaters and malls and schools, totally disregarding the law.
I've seen large cities that have way more strict gun laws then the US itself and they're bad, or even worse. Could sit outside at night and listen to guns going off and then watching the news next morning about someone barging into a bank or something and killing a bunch of people.
I've been told by many that live in the US and outside of, that when most Americans are presented with a law they don't like, they will go out of their way to break it in the name of protest and rebellion.
And with how things have been going, it really seems that way.
Edit:
Ha ha, maybe America really is doomed. Most of us are either too dumb to follow laws, or too dumb to roam around without laws holding our hands.

Because a single murder doesn't make national headlines. Since semi/automatic guns are just plain illegal in Canada, you rarely get any mass killings.
All of the murders in my city are with pistols or knives. Hell one guy murdered his son with carbon monoxide.
Okay, let me make one thing clear I (stupidly) neglected to do in my original post.
I'm mostly talking about people who think increased gun control or gun bans are a cure-all and no more mass shootings will ever happen in the US again, when it doesn't work that way. (See: My Americans deliberately breaking laws to prove a point remark)
Sure, it might reduce them somewhat, but I'm just tired of people thinking that it will solve every gun problem and make the world happy.
I asked my mother to get hair removal cream and next time she goes shopping, she gave me a weird look and agreed. I paid beforehand.
I discovered a hair removal squeeze tube in my bathroom after she got back, along with Venus disposable razors for women. I asked if it was for her and she said "No it's for you".
Was she subtly insulting me or am I just paranoid.
Being grounded/in trouble near the holidays. It just feels a bit gloomier.
Also, how much my parents (mainly my stepdad and my own dad)try to get me off the computer so much. My mom actually encourages me being on the PC, except when I'm grounded, like now.
For some reason someone that I used to go to uni with has decided to post on facebook that "killing on all levels is morally wrong" as if morals aren't subjective and it's certainly not black and white, hell he posted that the American civil war was morally wrong and he "doesn't agree with their use of guns so it's a bit of a messy subject".
I mean holy shit that's just the most idiotic thing I've seen in a very long time, oh I think that we should just go back to stabbing each other with swords and dying awful deaths and somehow abolishing slavery is morally wrong.

Has she done that before?

Your parents really need to tone their voices down.

I hope they weren't actually vacuuming the shit up. If that's the case then your parents must have a nasty-ass vacuum.
My fucking nostril is clogged up so much i can't breathe well, plus the side of my head and eye are throbbing.

No. First time I've ever done something womanly [sub][sub][sub]with my mother's knowledge[/sub][/sub][/sub]
Oh... Hickory Farms, why do you only sell once a year, and pretty much go out of stock at the start of the month. The only thing usually left on your stocks is the pepperjack cheese, and not the good stuff like smoked cheddar and summer sausage.

Hope my mom won't buy me razors and cream for me :v:
on friday when I got kept behind at lunch for "Disrupting the class's and other students learning"
there's this girl who sits behind me (massive bitch to everyone, spoiled to) who was complaining about an argument she had with one of my friends, putting words in his mouth and the like, and was being told complete bullshit by her friend (my friend's ex) so I thought I'd set things straight by telling her what he actually said.
Now according to my teacher that was the wrong thing to do, you know, stopping arguments from escalating is obviously a bad thing. The girl was still pissed of and continued to bitch and whine and moan about it all for a while until her and her friend, then me where sent out to talk with the teacher, who told me that I was "Making it worse" when I was actually helping.
Skip forward about 45 mins later and I have to stay in at lunch, and my teacher is complaining at me, refusing to listen, let alone try and understand the situation. She proceeded to tell me that "Either it isn't worth mentioning and bringing into my lesson, or it's something I need to get involved in, that the school and head of year needs to get involved in" bitch, it's a petty squabble between people who fall out every so often, it needs to be mentioned to sort it out before it gets an worse. We then argue for about 20 or so minutes, she wouldn't listen to reason and jumped from one extreme to another, that either it wasn't worth mentioning or she needed to get involved. In fact the only reason I stopped trying to get it into her thick skull was that my maths teacher (previously mentioned, see my massive rant about him taking the piss out of my financial situation) pitched up outside the class while the door was open.
TL:DR I got kept in for stopping an argument, or at least stopping it esculating

Wow. That's 'logic'.

It's best to leave situations like that alone. All you're getting is unnecessary grief, calling your maths teacher isn't very mature either.
People that feel the need to have parties at midnight. Especially with loud fucking music, which eventually causes everyone to start screaming at them. Annoying as shit, man.
A club at my college was having a lock-in and two of my friends that I barely see were going to it, so I figured I would go too to hang out with them before they go back home for the holidays. Turns out the day before the lock-in, I get hit by a really bad cold. And I rarely ever get sick. What the fuck.

It's kind of hard to hold a party during the day. Not justifying anything, just pointing it out.

I was in bed until 12:45, but I justify it with my cold. Normally I'm up by 10am on weekends.

Whatever. It's 3 in the fucking morning don't you think you can at least keep that shit down, it's not fair to others.
Well fuck, I just got stood up. I was suppose to go bowling with some girl but she never showed(she wanted to go bowling). I told my mom I was going on a date to and I do to want to go home because I'll feel like even more of a loser. My cars almost out of gas to so I can't really go anywhere to.

Instead of complaining to us, complain to them. It's not like we know where they live and can knock on the door and say "Hey, Rocko's is trying to sleep, could you maybe turn the music down a bit?"

I'm just complaining about that kind of stuff in general. Asking won't do shit.
