It's a real shame how certain, really awesome game genres aren't as sophisticated and often used. I can give a few examples, Pirate/Sailing games. There are a few of them, but really not enough. To get the main point, think about Sid Meiers Pirates. That's basically what I mean. Sailing around the Caribbean in times of discovery of the new world, and having the new world be a sandbox. You can be a pirate, or a sailor of one of the colonizers. There are Akellas Pirate games, like Age of Pirates, and they reeeaaally can be fun if you're into it, but the problem is that they are the kind of game which you either love or hate. Those are a tad slow paced and complicated, while Pirates! is a simpleton of a game and fast paced. I'd just love a middleground, which would be liked by a bigger audience. Another genre is Survival. There's Stranded, maaayyybbee minecraft but that's really streching the term, and not really much left. Again, a real shame, I just love to feel like fucking Bear Grylls (or Les Straud if you want) and survive in all kinds of shit. Luckily, there's a little something going on with that genre, with SURVIVOR being in develepoment. Maybe it'll attract people to it. The last one is Robot Arena. A really, really awesome game idea, and that is literally the only game of it's kind apart of some flash games. You build your robot, and then fuck other robots up. Simple, but so god damn fun. It's a game that you can just keep on your PC all the time, and come back to it once in a few months or so. My point is, that there are so awesome genres like these, but the main industry focuses on FPS and similar, because that's where most of the cash flows. And most Indies just makes simpler games, because they aren't able to make good games of those genres, since to make a game with said genres good you'll need quite the buck. Well, maybe except for Robot Arena, seriously, why won't someone Kickstart Robot Arena? It's just a real shame. I'd just love more games of such genres, or at least more people to share those interests with. On FP, megathreads of said games don't get far, and most small communities of said games i found on google, are barely over the water or just dead.
I just randomly started playing an air guitar while listening to Black Sabbath. I hope no one saw that. :v:

This happened years ago but the story was brought up again. Friends wanted to watch District 9 at the opening night. One of our "movie buff" friend wanted to join along and we said sure why not. We sit in the back like usual. 1/4th of the the movie passes and you can tell he's not enjoying it. He starts talking to another friend pretty loudly and makes fun of the movie like he's in his fucking living room. You can tell a lot of people in front were getting angry and annoyed. I was getting embarrassed to know him as the typical asshole in the theater. Try to tell him to shut up. He just laughs, thinking I was playing with him. People keep turning around looking at us and whining for good reason. Movie ends and we all tell him how he ruined the movie and he's never coming with us to another movie. He thought we were joking but we never did invite him again. After writing this, I'm more pissed at him now. Over time he did learn that he shouldn't fucking talk in a theater after bumping into him in another movie with a different group.

Yeah, it's a hybrid genre, since all you're doing is mashing two together, but it works out amazingly well. You can do all the typical space RTS shit, making bases, units, coordinating attacks, etc, but you're in a ship on the ground, with your own vehicle, and can fight aswell! There's even a small bunker with a satellite that changes the camera to a top-down one in the sky if you want to play like another typical RTS. I hope I'm not the only one who remembers BZII
So I had a very important appointment today that takes a long time. My mum wakes me up at 7:30 when the bus comes at around 7:50. Last minute (literally two minutes before we have to go) she tells me I'm going to school and to get my stuff. That isn't nearly enough time and now I'm missing supplies. Normally I'd be fine with going to school, but I almost missed my bus, and the appointment takes so long that by the time I get back I only have about a period left.

Savage: Battle for Newerth (and the sequel), Empires (HL2 mod), Iron Grip: The Oppression (Another HL2 mod), and a few more I forgot.
i was supposed to hangout with my friend today and clean my room, but i just woke up because i couldn't fall asleep last night. fuck insomnia so bad, holy shit.
i wish my friends didn't go to school, so that i wouldn't have to get drunk by myself.
i wish my friends didn't go to school, so that i wouldn't have to get drunk by myself.
Maybe they want to try getting a job?
Maybe they want to try getting a job?
maybe i want that too, but i have to wait until someone drops out of the school that i want to get into, cause all the classes are full at the moment. stop being so judgmental, bro.
Going to school on your birthday ;c EDIT Oh lawd I hope nobody actually knows its my birthday, lord knows one of the most awkward things of all time is having the birthday song directed at you Just standing there Looking around Everybody else is looking at you and singing oh god what do I do MAKE THE SONG END PLEASE
Woke my parents up at 1AM because I was laughing so hard at this one Japanese porn comic that was translated by someone pretty fucking funny that had many sarcastic puns and rants about japanese culture and subway sandwiches.
Sorry but its annoying to listen to people talk about getting high and drunk and then complain about having no money.
it's not like i spend money on getting drunk or high. how could i, i'm broke? my friends always share stuff like weed, morphine and amphetamines with me, because they know that i'm broke. and there's always plenty alcohol around the house, so that's not really a problem either.
When Facepunch goes down for 4+ hours [editline]22nd October 2012[/editline] It's also INSANELY slow right now, no one's online right now either. Are these posts even making it through? I may be talking to myself right now.

Having FP all to yourself is like having a playground all to yourself. It's magnificent and it feels nice for once.
Not anymore

Not as bad as being beaten up because it's your birthday but you know.
My mom just complained how I listen to the same music over and over. Yet she does. I just took a physical checkup earlier today. I'm wheezing. The doctor just diagnosed it. I think my life is over.
Think positively, you'll feel a lot better. Like half your posts are about how you've just been to the doctor, even when (it sounds like) you just have a cold. It sounds retarded, but a good mentality can lead to better health, or at least the perception of it. Basically, don't be such a hypochondriac.
That's pretty bad I guess. Not as bad as being beaten up because it's your birthday but you know.
What the hell Who does that sort of thing?
What the hell Who does that sort of thing?
15 year olds iirc. Haven't you heard of birthday beats? Normally it's just being punched in the arm once for each year you've been alive. For me it was being held from behind whilst being punched and kicked. I didn't go in on my birthday again.
Diagnosed it as...?
I'd be rude right now because the answer is right there in the post you quoted, but anyways the doctor said I am wheezing, so I read the report and it said "Wheezing". Nothing else on that bar.
Wake up at 2 AM, "Oh man, I can't go back to sleep, that was only 5 hours, but I feel so refreshed!" 4 hours later, 6 AM, shortly before I have to go to school, "Oh sweet Jesus, I'm about to collapse from exhaustion"
My way around that is to get up and either go play something for about 30 minutes or fap (i sleep home alone 4 days of the week) and i just go back to sleep. having that gap between two sleep cycles is actually healthy
