You know what? If you just tune out the bits with Jar Jar and young Anakin, Episode 1 is actually a really fucking good popcorn kinda film.
It has awesome fight scenes, wicked moments of tension, plenty of spaceships, plenty of on-the-fly repairing spaceships/and or pod racers which are on fire, a queen trying to save her people, a badass native army, and battle droids which are actually threatening instead of fucking retarded (see : episode 2, 3.)
I'm almost done watching the whole thing on youtube.
The battle with Darth Maul was pretty fuckin awesome.
