well work has forced me to miss out on meeting with a girl in town.
the chain worked like this:
work boots broke 2 nights ago -> no time to buy new ones for the next day (yesterday) -> wear black trainers for work, no one cares -> one manager spots me wearing them 5 hours into my shift -> forced to buy new black dress shoes -> can't afford to pay for pickups I ordered 6 months ago and only just arrived -> no reason to go to town but meeting the girl -> wait for her to come online to ask if she wants me to go, she appears now when the last bus to town worth catching is leaving
