You really should correct her. Or at least recommend her towards Best Buy.
This episode of Futurama is awesome.
the heads against the platters make a scraping noise. the drive may 'beep' if there's a problem with the spindle motor or logic board.
but it's not worth my time correcting those people any more. someone like her will just keep posting stupid things until she actually has some real experience with computer hardware and software (which probably won't be any time soon).
