Not sure if you can actually have servants [I]per se[/I] (I've never tried), and you can't build straight-up robots. You can buy an AI, but AFAIK the only use for it right now is to make it control the ship you build.
The idea of the main game is that your group crash landed on a planet that was seeded with Earth life hundreds of years ago. You make yourself a settlement, and you can recruit other people that show up, but the main point of the game is still to either build a ship and leave the planet or just survive as long as you can.
But as long as you can afford to keep buying/making cyborg prosthetics, you can totally turn your entire colony into cyborgs. You could even turn it into a cannibalization-colony in the metaphorical sense that all your shit comes from destroying and harvesting invaders, or in the literal sense.
