If I summon Solaire for help with Ornstein and Smough and his phantom dies before I do, so I lose the ability to summon Solaire for subsequent rematches against Ornstein and Smough?
I need his help but I know I'm going to die quite a bit so I want to make sure I can keep summoning him to distract Ornstein.

If it's anything like DS3, you should be able to resummon him. I haven't played DS1 in a while, though I think it stops him from being summonable later on.
