And it also allows me to drown out the background Toronto noise now too. The bass by default isn't too deep, but the mids are fantastic. More like a nice and crisp bass. But sometimes I want to get a deeper bass so I turn on the EQ for my sound card and boost it up some. The QC 25s are not cheap though. I got them because reimbursements allowed me to.

As for "Gaming" headphones, what do you mean? One with a mic built in? Sennheiser's a good brand and the HD 200 is what came with my "welcome to college" consumable package. The pressure is alleviated by having music playing or other sound on while wearing them. If I stop listening to sound on my headphones I turn off the noise cancelling because it starts to get uncomfortable when silent. The QC25s run fine without noise cancelling on, but you will notice a decent lack of "presence" because when the switch is on, it also acts as an amp of sorts and really kicks the sound up a notch.
