Based on the first trailer, I thought it would actually be good, but after watching it...? Nah. It was pretty mediocre for a Terminator film, the action sequences were waaay too close together. In the first few films, there were plenty of casual scenes that contributed to character development which built up to the action sequences, this also added nice amounts of suspense. In Genisys, however, every action sequence is followed by a smaller action sequence or a very brief casual character-building scene. There's no room to cool down from the fighting and shooting and mindless violence in Genisys, it's all one bland fight scene after another. Even the ending suffered from this: (SPOILERS, except the trailer already spoiled everything) [sp]Arnie dies while tussling with Connor-bot in the time machine as he struggles to hold him within the quantum-space-fuckery field. His body gets caught in the spinny ring mechanism of it, his mangled body is then tossed outside of it, and into the robo-memory-liquid nearby. As his tortured figure sinks into the liquid, his eye goes dark and Connor-bot is destroyed as the time machine explodes and wrecks Tecom/Cyberdyne/[COMPANY] building. After Kyle Reese (I swear, Jai Courtney does not look like a good guy. He seriously looks like he'd a mob bosses goon or just a generic minion.) and Sarah Connor make it into the company bunker, they contemplate fucking for the future of mankind when they are immediately interrupted by a terminator breaking open the bunker door. Who could it be? Arnie reborn! He's now a T-800/T-1000/Connor-bot hybrid, and is virtually indestructible! There is probably about 30 seconds (or less) between Arnie dying and Kyle/Sarah "mourning" him before he interrupts their mating ritual.[/sp] Also, [sp]Skynet wasn't destroyed, there was a secret chamber revealed to be holding some sort of super duper computer brain which Skynet was obviously in.[/sp] Genisys is an overdose of lots of dumb, safe action and fight scenes. If there is a sequel, it's probably going to be the equivalent of Counter-Strike for Kids.
