At my school, everyone treats the autistic kid as a beta.
This honestly pissed me off at times. The reason why was because well, it was cool that people at least had the humanity to not make fun of the kid with autism, but it felt more like they were doing it out of pity. In fact, when he wasn't there they would instantly start bad mouthing him the moment his name came up.
There's even a fan page to him on facebook with (I'm not fucking kidding here) [B]500 members[/B].
And in all honesty, this kid is not pleasant to be around. This kid constantly bad mouths teachers, constantly yells in your ear, and quotes family guy every 2 minutes.
But you know what, out of all of this, I agree with what ever he says, and laugh at his family guy references. Because I don't want to be an asshole. But I also don't praise him like the kids making fun of him do. I just treat him like an equal. In all honesty though, I kinda don't mind kids being over the top nice to him. Because it's much better than the alternative which could hurt him.
