I love how something as simple as the shape of the speech-bubble conceives something as complex as the sound and character of a voice being transmitted though piezolelectric elements, lot's of digital sampling, resampling and amplification, noise, many other complex algorithms, electromagnetic waves and may blueprints know what else,a phone.
I have a cool D&D story but can't be arsed to write it down on /tg/ and then screencap it. So I'll just type it here.
In my old Scout troop, some guys played D&D. Now, they played it very loosely, the DM let them get away with pretty much anything.
One of the characters was "Bob the Barbarian". I believe he was a half-orc, but in any case he was a barbarian among barbarians. He was the kind of character who would immediately go into a rage whenever he saw a door, just so he could break it down faster.
Not surprisingly, the party eventually found themselves locked up in a town prison. Not to be slowed down by this, Bob hatched a plan. When the prisoners were served their rations, Bob took his bread and Intimidated the water out of it, making it hard as a rock. He then threw the rock-hard crust at a guard, killing him.
Within a few hours Bob was throwing the warden's head through the mayor's window as the party left the town on horseback.

I really don't see what his problem is. He gets money, he gives the icecream, who gives a damn what they do with it?

I was DMing a DnD game for my friends, which led them to a Smuggler`s cove populated mostly with hobbits. They only way they were allowed in was by tricking the quite dopey hobbit guarding the door. After some basic conversation, the group believed him to have special needs.
Shortly after, fighting erupted, and as the hobbit started crying in fear of the butchering of the people who took him in, the two wizards in the party stopped fighting in order to use prestidigitation, taking a mug of water, then coloring it a bright red and flavoring it to simulate Middle-Earth style Kool-Aid and cheer him up.
Thus, he joined up with the troupe and "Pokey the Slow" has been around for several more campaigns.
