Nope, he had to study for a french test and he thought trying out one of those audio language learning tapes was a good idea. As soon as he fell asleep the tape stuck on the sentence "Omelette Du Fromage" and when he woke up it was the only thing he could say.

I know, I've seen the episode.
What I'm saying is that for the French dub, in which the entire episode would be in FRENCH and thus this joke having nearly no meaning, they probably had him saying "cheese omelette" in English.

Which is weird because it's supposed to be "omlette au fromage."
