all i know is i was super interested in programming
then i spent 3 years learning java in HS
now i'm not interested in programming anymore

Obviously that would be a better choice but that doesn't make Java worse than simply not teaching programming.

we were taught a little bit of python and i remember it was really fun
but then it was back to java
When we did programming in school on the first time, our teacher teached us C++.
We just covered the basics but I got pretty deep into the general rules in programming.
