One of my colleague is a vegetarian. Every lunch brake he goes through 3 tipes of salads and whatever non-meat dish they have in the cafeteria.

That's just it, though? the best contributors/posters there nearly always tend to look down their noses sometimes if the stuff you submit doesn't come up to their standards.
To be fair, newbies are usually welcomed and given tips, but if you can't progress beyond that level, and/or refuse to take the advice proffered to you, then yeah, it's usually open season on you.

It's more or less the competitive gaming threads like LoL and CS:GO that have that very offensive aura about them. I can't tell if it's because the people there are just so willing to strain the strategic information out of something that they care enough to go out of their way to tell you what's wrong or right but if it is the latter I commend them on actually giving a shit enough to tell a random guy on the internet how to learn a game.
This doesn't have anything to do with me, it's just what I've seen from lurking
