I feel like they wouldn't be as toxic if the games didn't take a long time to finish. With most games, getting rid of your jerkass behavior is simple as switching servers or games. With these, you're really committed to the end, which takes a lot of the enjoyment out of it for other people if their teammates are bad or "trolling"

Most gaming communities are pretty much shit.
One of the least toxic I've seen is dark souls, Almost every person I've played with has been cool.. GTA 5 is oddly less shitty than MOBA communities, as funny as that sounds.
Hell, I've actually had good luck with the CoD community. I've heard less awful than what I've seen from mobas.
I can say DS has a great community, gta5 and cod for me is more out of luck of just finding not awful people.
Also the in-game community is far worse, FP is kindergarten compared to that.

Sorry man, I didn't read your post. Yeah, the last time I've read the CSGO thread it was a few days ago and before that it was almost an entire year ago.
Back then I was pretty new to the game and I didn't want to slip up and say some stupid shit on the fp thread so I started talking to one of the guys who regular'd that thread. They kind of just offed me half assed-ly and that was the last I ever heard of them(even on FP, for that matter)

i used to post in the league thread every day and i can see how it would seem like that from an outsider's point of view, but the people giving people shit are actually good at the game and know what they're talking about.
it's not bad to say something like "i think teemo is great, especially when i build him full crit", you'll be told why you're wrong surely, but its the people who keep posting dumb shit and refuse to learn but still complain in the thread who get blasted by everyone.
also a lot of people seem mean but they aren't really.

the csgo casual community is my favourite place on the internet next to the call of duty casual community (the australian ones at least) because most of the time you can have a great time dicking around with people over voice chat.
when you get into a game and everyone is named after stds you know you're going to have a fun time.

You should look up how the ELO system works in CSGO, it's really quite complicated.
