Put ten canisters of shaving foam in the freezer for a few days, wait for them to freeze, then half hour before the trip cut all the metal casings off so ur left with 10 chunks of frozen pressurized foam. Strategically place these around ur car (under the seats, in the glove compartment etc), and then just carry on as normal.
Make sure to act just as surprised as everyone else when they start to thaw out and mayhem ensues.

6 hours is fucking nothing, every summer i spend 6 days in a cramped car, buy a laptop and play some games or some shit, or sleep, easiest way to pass the time.

Any of the above reasons, or just stay up late, wake up early and sleep all the way there. That's what i do.
Get Plants vs Zombies or Peggle or some other addictive Pop Cap game and play that.
