I don't care about all that. I personally hate smartasses much more.
funny how facepunch derides hipsters yet this thread is a variant of the hipster mentality
Sounds like my classmates, they find Gmod idiot box funny :geno: I have a aneurysm whenever they start yelling "HAAAX" and "FACEPALM" and acting like your average mentally retarded 12 year old.
Although I do enjoy Gmod Idiot Box, I hate when people yell out the catchphrases out loud.
"HAAXX!! LOL XD"
The game was popular in my school in 2005.

I remember the game on the internet in 2005.

I have a "friend" who is a freshmen who still thinks Rick Roll, Chuck Norris, and Demotivational posters are still funny.
He's okay once you get him to shut the fuck up about his stupid idea to Rick Roll the entire school.
One would think that a person would learn about the most recent memes first since everyone is talking about those, but it's always the 2004-2007 memes they seem to find before anything else.
My friend is 3 years behind on the meme timeline. He won't shut up about the 'cake is a lie' or 'it's a trap' or 'lol, you lost the game'. He even yells it in the hall on the way to English 4.
I am on the verge of giving him a swift boot up the ass.
A group of people I know in college just recently found out what they think a 'rickroll' is, and think its the new cool and in thing to do.
A few years ago our high school IT technician swapped the slideshow that was playing on all the school TVs for Never Gonna Give You Up. Only I got the joke. Now everyone does it and I'm sick of it!
Have sex with your little sister each time she talks about memes
Eventually she will stop.
Maybe you would be lucky and she will stop after you deflower her.
Ok so my little sister, who is 12, has recently discover lolcats and it is all she does. "HAHAHAH ALEX LOOK AT THAT ONE! HAHAHAHAHH! HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S RIDING AN INVISIBLE BIKE! LOL! OMG" I just swear under my breath and walk away. Three months ago she got new school laptops. GREAT. JUST FUCKING GREAT. Now all over my house are pictures of gay little cats all over my walls. I took the printer cartridge out of the printer hoping it would stop the madness. God I wish this phase would end. It may seem like I'm overreacting but when you have listen to nonstop shitty cats and other things in that category: loldogs, lolrus, and lolhampsters for 3 months, i can't take it. sorry but i am on the verge of insanity
So you hate your sister? And your avatar being a cat.
[editline]6th November 2010[/editline]
Also, my history class has a demotivational poster. Jesus Christ almighty.
Rated dumb due to "hampster"
:v:
But yeah totally agree

Memes + 12 Year olds = Something awry

Coor Engrish broseph.
Memes are awful in any form.
Take this post for example.
i remember when 1337 was popular in 2005, i still use it occasionally tho
The worst is when people shout FAIL
Ok, i need to explain a bit, at our school, kids who go to TAFE have access to almost every website that is blocked for the rest of us. This includes Youtube.
There is a dumbass kid who follows me and my friends around, who constantly discusses Metal Gear Solid, Bioshock and Oblivion. To him, those are the only games ever made, every single other game is non-existant.
One day, he was showing another kid a video for a Metal Gear Solid game. After we told him how stupid he was, he shot us down with a "shut up" and proceeded to watch his stupid video.
Rickroll may be old, but i still laughed my ass off when his precious video turned out to be a Rickroll. His face was priceless.

cool knowledge of the english language, broseph. i see no engrish in this quote.
The absolute worst part about this situation is that we can do nothing about it. :(

Dated 1905
The transition scares me, it really does. most people from my school use the term 'nomming' as a verb. these are people who use the internet solely for facebook and a few videos on youtube.
I remember on an essay we had to write somebody in my class used 1337 speak for nearly the ENTIRE THING.
The rage was hard to contain.
I can't take you seriously with the name alex-is-epic
And that he has a cat as his avatar
People discovering old memes is almost as bad as getting stuck watching tosh.0 with your non internet friends
if Daniel tosh used facepunch every post would be late.
In my class there are two idiots who STILL like Pokemon.
Then everyone is wearing silly bands.
And they think "Using a computer" means getting on Facebook and spelling stuff like a complete retard.
Then they think drugs are funny.
And sexual innuendos.
Then "rape".
Luckily, they don't know the game, Rickroll, Trollface, Troll Science and "Pills Here!".
One of the meme-loving idiots got dared to do the "rape" innuendo on a girl.
He never did it again.
They come ranting at us that me and my two best friends are "computer freaks", yet they whine for help the next day because their computer has some weird virus that just renamed all their files (We actually sent them said "viruses".)
I know it's been said in here already, but I just have a general dislike towards those constantly trying to be 'internet cool'.
About a month and a half ago I thought was going to shoot myself when my roommate discovered memes. Just memes in general, before that he had absolutely no idea as to what they were. Thankfully his interest in them died off real quick.
Some communist wannabe in my highschool thought anonymous was an anarchist group that fighted against Scientology and that they actually had influence.
In my class there are two idiots who STILL like Pokemon.
That's not bad at all. It would be bad if they were yelling "Gotta catch'em all!" or "Pikachu I choose you" and singing the opening of the series.

I agree with this. I'm not into Pokemon like I used to be, however I still play the games. They're fun. There's also at least 30 other people I know of on my (university) campus that regularly play as well. That's what some of the RAs for the dorms play while they're on duty in the dorm lobbies.
