I find it annoying how people complain about other people who are "ruining sunglasses" (like Wayfarers) when there are people who can't even wear sunglasses. Because they have shitty vision. Like me. I have a nice pair of old Ray Bans (that my Father gave me) that are a few years older than me, and I can't even use them. Of course it can, but that doesn't mean it will run well. Your resolution / AA settings are going to come into play as well. If you're maxing out Crysis at 1680x1050 or something, that's not nearly as demanding as 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 with 2x or 4xaa.
I got it at 1680x1050 with AA off and postprocessing on lowest, I get 40fps with dips to 20 in hectic gunfights with explosions etc. I'm still impressed.

Most of the more recent GPUs will handle it relatively well, even the lower mid-range cards. Even the CPU requirements aren't too bad, as most dual cores will do just fine.

It can still be a pain in the ass if you turn all the settings up as high as they'll go, and throw in a few of the texture packs. But it's definitely not the 'holy shit no one can run this' game that it was 3-4 years ago.
Yeah, GTA IV on max settings has that title now :v:
For the most part, although I have to say I am really quite impressed with how my 2500k handles it. I can more or less have textures on high, and other settings on high / very high. For the most part it remains above 50 fps, aside from a few spots in the city where it might tank for a little bit.
I hope they tweaked the engine a bit for GTA V.

It's mostly just the engine they chose to use. Although some of the more recent patches have helped out the performance quite a lot. Not to mention there's a handy mod called 'VisualIV' that fixes up the vasoline-smear blur and boosts performance.
