I feel the same exact way about vanilla SoC. Sure, you can try being stealthy, and the bandits won't look for you unless they know you're there. And they always know that you're there. It's annoying as hell when I'm trying to be sneaky, and some fucker in Metro manages to see me moving around in an already pitch black train tunnel.

I've never really had any problems with it. I snuck through 2 of the Nazi outposts without being discovered on my first tries.
Mother says I can order a PC component. As I'm going to sell my current PC and build fresh soon enough, I decided on something simple to put in, then switch out: An SSD drive.
I'm gonna probably go Kingstone 120GB SATA3, as my board supports it and Mother indicated a $200 max. Unless anyone has any objections.

Yes and no.

Most of them have a definite edge on speed over mechanical drives, and they're generally more durable as well. But of course you're going to pay a higher price per gig. A lot of the newer drives have much better controllers, so lifespan isn't really an issue anymore.
Honestly though I'm still holding off...because that's still a rapidly evolving area of the market. Even in the next couple years we'll see much better prices / higher amounts of storage on those drives.
I don't wanna go back to fucking school.
