2 was awesome, don't get me wrong, but I started to hate Dexter (the character) when he started to cheat on Rita.

And I liked 1 better because it revolved more around Dexter's mentality, and even though I figured out who the killer was very quickly, the actual ending surprised me.

Yeah, the first few episodes of season 3 are bad, but it sucked me right in after Miguel got more involved.
