Humans will probably use up all the resources on the planet in a 10 or 20 thousand years, at which point we will leave to colonize new worlds, or die off from starvation. Then the earth will float around for a couple hundred million years slowly getting further from the sun until it becomes a frozen ball of dirt that will never support life again.

World will end when the Sun ends. Why wasn't that a choice?
