The planet x theory is basically where there might have been another planet in the solar system that smashed into mars (making the massive crater in it) and turning into a ball of ****. In the other one i read they think that another planet may be on collision course for earth.
Half the people here are discussing how the planet will end, the others are talking about how the human race will end, they could be two completely different things with billions of years between them.

The planet will likely end long after we leave it. 50,000 years from now, Earth is guaranteed to be void of life, or almost completely.
By 240,000 years from now, the Earth will be completely desolate. No life will exist, and the temperature will be post-200 celsius.
Eventually, the Sun will destroy the Earth either by eventual gravitational pull or Supernova.
This is mainly because although we say we have enough weapons to "destroy" the planet, I think this more or less means "Void the planet of life."
It's unlikely that our weapons can destroy the Earth any near amount of the 5900km from surface-center to actually destroy it, or throw it out of orbit.
I'd say it's likely we move onto another Solar System before the Earth dies.
If by world, you mean Human Species, I'd say due to Human Ignorance, Natural Occurances, or Aliens. We'll either wipe ourselves out, use up our Natural Resources and not obtain any more, or be destroyed by an opposing species. Then, there's also the option that we get caught in a Super Nova, or a giant Asteroid hits the only planet we live on.

Why is gamma rays in there? Why does everything think gamma rays disturb particles and destroy the fuck out of things. It's not really that dangerous, if anything it's like radiation.
The Earth will either be swallowed by the Sun when it turns into a red giant in 5 billion years, or be destroyed by us in the future by some high-energy yielding source (For example an anti-matter facility that has an accident, or an extremely powerful fusion bomb)
Asteroids won't do much damage to Earth, and we will probably have the technology to repel them in the future.
Humanity however might be destroyed much sooner, probably by a nuclear war.
