i don't even understand that. there's power in sacrificing a son but sacrificing a father isn't worth any more.
why not grab a random off the street? they won't have the same connection but it'll be more powerful and if they ever rise again, they don't know shit about you.
If anyone is feeling super generous I would love a copy of Chaos on Deponia. I really enjoy the art style and gameplay but the first game was too short, I completed the first game and got every achievement in 12 hours (including Droggeljug).

I was making a reference to "The Peabody Heritage" by H.P. Lovecraft, in which a man ends up flipping the corpse of a dead relative who practiced dark magic while exploring the family crypt. This allows the spirit of the relative to come back and ends up getting the main character to sign his name in a black book which basically seals his soul to a demon. The only sacrificing in this case would be of local children, but apparently the dark arts in this case must be passed down a specific bloodline.
oh, i thought you were talking about sacrificing his father along with selling his soul to a demon for power, gives better results with another sacrifice than if you just gave your soul.
lovecraft's rituals follow their own logic, alien logic. normal demons at least set up rules we understand, even if they break them themselves.
i never understood why people who do deals with the devil don't just ask for immortality that would solve the negative side pretty much completely
because you are restricted by the contract, they aren't. if you want immortality, they'll find a way to fuck you or fuck everyone around you. they need to get something out of it and if you're a bad investment, they'll just take what they want.
the best way is to be a tool for them because they get what they want and you keep most of your agency. perform rituals or shape the world to their liking, good deal for both of you. or just deal with the arcane because the aether doesn't give a shit, try lichdom.
