• How picky are you with your graphics settings?

I always try to keep draw distance and texture size as high as possible with the least performance hit. I generally keep AA and VSync off to help boost my performance. It doesn't bother me until I take a really close look.
Lowest settings for everything. I'm not so enthusiastic about graphics, so I couldn't care less about them.
Multiplayer = lowest settings possible Single-player = default settings usually, if it goes below ~90 FPS I'll decrease settings (I have a 120 Hz monitor). V-sync forced off to remove that nasty mouse latency.
I'll start out high, watch my PC begin to explode, and then lower them until it's reliably playable. Except FOV, FOV I always max out.
AA on the lowest non-off value, view distance max, everything else as high as I can reasonably get it
I always play on the lowest settings because my computer fucking sucks ass.
Highest since my new setup can run just about anything I want on ultra.
Lowest, then increase if possible without having unplayable FPS. I find this way more suspenseful to figure out if you can run max settings without any performance drops.
Set it low if I know I can't run the game well, but put it higher to see how high I can go before it's unplayable.
Either cranking it up on full or just letting it auto-adjust them to full for me.
Highest and then lower it if need be 2 PCs ago it was highest settings, bsod, restart pc and lower settings. Oh how things have changed.
I start with the default stuff. I crank my settings up gradually either up or down. I usually end up avoiding AA because my rig is not that amazing.
Higher than ultra because my computer is kinda weird when it comes to graphics. I mean, if I set it on medium everything is fine (I take Crysis as an example now) but when I turn it a bit higher the fps drops to about 20. BUT because I'm such an crazy fucker I set it even higher. Then it is starting to get weird. If I set it on the highest possible setting the fps will be fixed around 15-20 and will never go lower while playing. Can someone tell me if this is normal?
I use Ubuntu with wine and with a 2009 machine. I told you everything :v:
I actually prefer my games to run at 30fps rather than 60. 60 just seems too smooth to me.
I actually prefer my games to run at 30fps rather than 60. 60 just seems too smooth to me.
that's weird, because everyone says 30 fps is perfectly fine but I can't stand it, it looks like everything is in slow motion. Maybe it's my monitor.
I like games smooth as butter on my face. I typically balance looks and FPS.
I torture it for as long as possible before I lower them to be able to actually play the game.
I keep them high at first. If I have a low framerate or if the game crashes frequently, I try to lower my settings.
There was no "pick the highest settings and if I can't get at least 30 FPS I upgrade my parts" option.
I'll always use the highest settings possible no matter what. I'm a graphic whore.
Highest usually, as long as its over 25fps, I am good.
I put them up as high as possible and I'm comfortable with anything above 30. I usually aim for 1920x1080 resolution with 2x - 4x AA and I have yet to find a modern game that drops to the point of making me lower my settings. I still love how some games like UT2k4 that were revolutionary for the time react to having high settings on. On such modern machines it amuses me to no end how that game is still all "HOLY SHIT!" when you up everything as high as possible.
I start the game and if it works fine I play it If not, I choose the best looking settings while maintaining a rater high FPS, not necessarily over 60 though.
Lowest possible, then look on the net for extra FPS tweaks, apply. Hopefully will get around 20 FPS.. Run in 640x480 if supported.
Set to lowest, resolution to 1280x720 Play game, hope for the best. Rage quit out, look for more ways to turn things off, fail, and unistall.
For most newer games, I'll turn most things down except draw distance. That's the only setting that has any real effect on how competitive I can play.
