I lived in Oregon. Most of them are short tempered, take insults immediately to be offended. Portland is the bane of hipsters. Everyone smokes weed. It was not fun how really every person seemed like an asshole. I'd be walking down the street and if I see someone walking by me I greet them and I get nothing but a stare like if I were insulting them. The only places I seemed to see nice people were in Churches or places where families had good incomes.
The times I've been to Georgia, everyone has seemed to be a lot more nice. They dress good or look like a complete hick. A lot of them are nice because there is a lot of faith in the area.
Really depends on where you are going.
I suggest going to a smaller city than SF or NY. Fitting in in high school would be much easier. Just be yourself and don't be a pussy who takes every ones shit. A lot of the time a foreigner will get good recognition right away because you are something new. It's usually a good recognition.

Also, in the north we don't really wave to each other, I don't know why, but when you go down south people always wave at you.

Ohio isn't too bad. Decent weather, nice midwestern folk, a large lake... the list goes on and on.

How America is really depends on where you go. If you like winter seasons then you might be better off going to a school in New England, such as Boston, where we get the best winter seasons. If you're looking for milder weather there's always North Carolina, and for the warmer climates, you could go to California, Arizona, etc. etc.
If anything, people will be friendlier to you because you're foreign. Americans get hard-ons when they meet someone that's from a foreign country.

The high school I went to had an IB program but it was really a joke at that school. The IB program was actually taken away at some point after I graduated. I started out in IB but I realized the program at at our school specifically, not the program in general, was poorly ran, so I "dropped out" of it and just did regular Advanced Placement. To this day it was probably the smartest thing I ever did with my life.
Anyway, school systems in America very greatly not only by state, but by city as well. The county I live in has the worst education system in the state of Georgia and the state of Georgia is (or was at the time) the second worst state in terms of education system (the worst having been South Carolina, our neighbors). So yea, there are probably a lot of great schools in our country but I don't know about them. What I learned in high school was how to cheat and get away with it and how to bullshit your way through everything.
Long story short: If I were to say anything, I would say don't go to high school in America.

You are living in Sweden, moving out to any other country will pretty much just lower your quality of living and besides, Sweden has a GREAT education system, while the USA has "No Child Left Behind" and who knows what else that "dumb down" the education system. You will learn less there, unless you go to a private school.

There are the cool people, Athletic peps who do track and sports, Band, Choir, TSA/FBLA/SkillsUSA, FCA, Normal people, nerds, goths, Anime Freaks
And then there's me, I'm the guy who does most of the IT work around the school. The hired IT guy hardly ever shows up, so someone's gotta do it.

and honestly it's going downhill pretty fast. I wouldn't recommend it right now. My advice is stay in Sweden. Nowhere you go will be better or as good. Sweden is probably one of the few countries that isn't being affected by any economical crisis right now.

I highly doubt it depending on where you go. Religion may get to you however, the south is the christian belt of the country.
Northern America is best America.
I love California but with some of its crap laws & its holding of bright signs saying "All illegals in the world come to our state we'll pay for your education!" its quickly becoming a territory of Mexico (just look at any video of the streets of L.A) its turning into something else very different than it was decades ago. The state i was born in (Washington State) is pretty damn good, though.

Oppurtunity is the best reason tbh.
Few countries can match it. We have some of the best schools. 18 of the best hospitals in the world are American. We have the 2 leading tech hubs in the world. My father IS a swedish immigrant and came here for school
Depends entirely on where you live. If you're in Florida, everyone's over 70 years old and from up North; Buicks per capita is extremely high.
As long as you don't move to the sO rAsTa GaNgStA places, you should be fine.
