My problem is that Spark converted all the payphones in the city into free wifi hotspots, but you can't connect to them unless you're with Spark.

Mimics work when they are relevant as they are.......... mimicking something. If you just throw mimics in willy nilly they can be a pain in the ass.
In Ragnarok Online Mimics wander maps rather than lying in wait. They attack fast and have higher evasion than a walking treasure box should have. They also are way out of place as none of the maps where they spawn have treasure boxes that aren't just set pieces/background. In fact, on official servers the only treasure boxes that can be interacted with are in monster free zone and therefore can never be mimics.
