when you're thinking about spending a large amount of money the anxiety can mess up the logical thinking part of your brain

fact: I have an elementary schooler's understanding of math and numbers. You'd be surprised how I obtained my higschool diploma [sp] hint, I am so mathmatically delayed that I had to have work adjusted to a level I could understand throughought my school years. right up until senior year. I can't do algebra at all, and I multiply with a calculator. Same with adding.[/sp]
I am 18 and this is very sad.

on an unrelated note i fucking LOVE this song and the video is neat as hell

I'm good at math but I suck at English.
If someone puts calculus or algebra or even multiplication problems in front of me and tells me to solve them I will sit there and stare at the paper for hours as if it's another foreign language. That's the best way to describe it, numbers look like a whole different language to me.
Numbers and values don't register with my brain. I mean I can add something just fine or subtract but that's it.
I am fluent in math and can calculate English no problem

I'm terrible at math too, the lowest score I got in a class was a math class and that was 20 out of 100. I don't even know what algebra is.
meanwhile math was the only thing I was good at in school and I fucking hated it
like I was the kid who got 100% on tests where the class average was a low C
launch day so im back to ninjatar
I can math fine tho as long as it doesn't have any damn letters mixed in it
Used to get really high scores on every test except the ones where you gotta figure out what the X is
that bastard didn't like to give up easily, still hiding his real identity

A question about gaming I've been wondering for years: do you think it's necessarily bad design for players being able to control the protagonist in combat and action but the protagonist is their own character when it comes to the story or even just non-essential cutscenes like skits? I worry about people who consider that kind of stuff to be railroading, especially on games with lengthier story bits like Metal Gear.
On a related note, I know a lot of people didn't like Fallout 4 because all the dialogue options boiled down to the same answer with different personalities, when people expected actual roleplaying. Could this system work if the player had this expectation going in, though? Sonic Chronicles did something similar (you'd often have a tree that just went between "straight answer", "snark", and "ask for details") and while that game notoriously had many, many problems, writing was considered one of the few good things about it, especially in characterization (considering it was BioWare who made it, not too surprising.)
