what are the odds of anything but the handle hitting him in the stomach?
50/50
Well Ive got knives, a crossbow, and a compound bow. Do those count as not guns?
50/50
More like 20/80. Unless you have a double edged throwing knife and you've actually practiced throwing knives before. I've learned how but really suck.
In a realistic situation I would have a gun since my dad owns a few pistols, and considering he's trespassing on my property and he has the intent to hurt if not kill me and my family I have the right to shoot to kill. And I know I would without hesitation.
It's a LOT more complicated than that. Read up on the legal stuff involved with it. Also, I would take a somewhat heavy item, and yes I have alot in my house, and I would ambush the motherfucker. If not that, I would do it all with my hands. I am like a panther, I like to be the one that gets the drop on the enemy. Let the hunter become the hunted ;]. Also, I would probably grab a compound bow and deal with him. Good luck getting a shot at me when you have an arrow in your neck and looking for someone in the dark whom you didn't see at their shooting position in the first place.
What kind of crossbow? And how old are you? You do realize the difference between crossbow and compound bow? Crossbows are very hard to pull back. If you have a 60 pound draw weight on a compound bow a lot of the pressure is taken off. And aiming is a lot harder on a compound.
Yes I know the difference Compound: [img_thumb]http://huntingexperienceforyou.com/wp-content/uploads/image/compound%20bow.jpg[/img_thumb] Crossbow: [img_thumb]http://www.backcountryfsj.com/images/products/revolution_crossbow.jpg[/img_thumb] I am 17 and use it for hunting. I went to go take a picture of it but apparently, Peter (The owner of it) has loaned it to a friend. Yes I know how hard they are to pull back, I've done it myself whilst hunting. Also during target practice.

Actually, my mother is Ceo of her company, and she got threatened more than 1 time. So i have a baseball bat and a dart gun (With temporary paralyzis poison on them) beside my bed. The poison is not dangerous, but make you unable to use your muscle correctly and make you breath heavily
It's a LOT more complicated than that. Read up on the legal stuff involved with it.
The laws on homicide in self-defense or defense of property vary from state to state. Most places follow the "necessary force" policy which, in summary, says that for force used in a "castle defense" (defense of one's home from invasion) to be legal, only the minimum required amount of force can have been used in order to subdue the offender. Which is a STUPID legal policy. In such a situation, who the fuck, within a split-second, can decide how much force they should use (a.k.a. you have a gun/crossbow/knife/unarmed/whatever and your house was just broken into)? Is your average citizen a trained warrior that can determine what exactly "too much force" is when his/her life/property/loved ones are in danger? If you personally have ever been in such a situation, I'm sure you understand that "I don't want to hurt this person TOO MUCH" is the last fucking thing going through your head. This law allows offenders to potentially get off the hook if they were hurt "too much". Besides, the bastard should die. That's how any governmentally un-regulated society does it.
If someone breaks into your home and trips on something, breaking his/her leg he/she can sue you.
If someone breaks into your home and trips on something, breaking his/her leg he/she can sue you.
It happened, and the thief won.
If someone breaks into your home and trips on something, breaking his/her leg he/she can sue you.
That's fucking retarded.

BOOMSHAKALAKA. 30-06 ftw.
That's fucking retarded.
Depends on the state, they all have different laws for it. Plus, courts make weird-ass exceptions all the time and can be obnoxiously inconsistent.
Throw a knife and hope it gets him, if it misses. Tackle the guy
Depends on the state, they all have different laws for it. It arms you with atleast one more statement in your defense (in court) - the guy heard the alarm, it was his fault that he proceeded. he was warned to leave the house in the first place.
Lol, isn't it ironic how following the law and living in the real world are 2 completely different things?
What exactly do you mean? In a court of law, no matter how futile or silly a statement sounds, the more have to back yourself up, usually the better.
What I mean is... if you didn't have an alarm, and someone broke into your house and you killed them, the law says you're a murderer. However, if you did have an alarm, and someone broke into your house and you killed them, then you can get off the hook. It's retarded.

It's retarded.
That's an unfortunate situation, but there are still many factors to consider in a given situation. Criminal record, psych records, etc.
And the fact that lawyers can come up with bullshit defenses that lead dumb juries astray, and judges in general are inconsistent with their standards and come up with reasons for their decision instead of a decision based on their reasons. Ranting like always, lol... I fucking hate the whole damn legal system. :v:
Hell I dont need a gun I have my sword,he wont fare well.
Keep my pimp hand strong
I think It would work.
Kill him.
I think It would work.
my dad has one of those
To be honest, and I know this is not in relation to the OP's post, but bear with me for a sec- I think you can't go wrong with a less-than-lethal round from a shotgun. Sure, the guy kicking down your door may be wearing body armor, but bean bag rounds are not the only LTL ammo for shotguns out there. Check this out guys: http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/catalog1/index.php/cName/lessthanlethal-ammo-12-gauge-ammo Also, other things can be added to a shotgun (or if you wish, any other firearm) that can avoid the use of deadly force altogether. One of these items is a tactical flashlight. These things DO NOT CARE if the suspect is on drugs that numb them from pain or the ability to use their heads- once you are blinded by a light, you are blinded. A tactical flashlight can easily blind the SHIT out of someone in a split second.
I have a blow gun. I would launch one of the nail darts through his eye and into his brain. I can, too. Or i could throw a knife.
Well I run to my kitchen, grab a few knifes and charge him, knock him out and call police.
