I don't think that you realize that it is all (if the G28 as a gun was a better platform) functional. If the gun was, say, lighter and more accurate (like other AR-style .308's), then there is a NVS and a Scope (which IMO, is kind of useless on a "DMR" with only 1.5 MOA accuracy >.>) for seeing in the night. At night though, I doubt the use of the Aimpoint. So at any point, 2 out of the 3 sights on the top rail are useful. Just because something is "tacticool" in your opinion doesn't mean that it doesn't have a use. Let's see YOU use a day scope to try to accurately (again, pretty much impossible with the piece of shit rifle known as the G28) provide covering fire at night, or trying to protect yourself should you get ambushed (again, pretty much impossible with the G28 because HK didn't think to cut a few more holes into the RIS, or make the rails removable, or not use a Gas Piston system) without a decent CQB optic.

However, besides that little mistake in how useless the G28 is, it's still a really shitty rifle that should never of have been developed -___-
-Gas Piston system on a DMR (Increases weight, decreases accuracy)
-Non-free floated barrel (Decreases accuracy)
-Shitty RIS system (Instead of cutting more holes, or using a "tube" with holes for attachable rail segments, H&K put permanent rail on the side and bottom, where they are not likely to be fully utilized)

It's for a Flickr member's birthday, and he requested it. IMO, all G28's should be melted and made into SR25's, LaRue OBR's, Mk. 11's, M110's or Noveske N6's
