I once tricked my little brother into getting Oblivion at release on his 6th birthday, by telling him all his favorite video game characters were in it. If I recall, he could only pick one game at the store.
After we got back, I basically took over his gift. Didn't feel any shred of guilt, and he was pissed for a long time. He's more a fan of the series than I am these days, but still. It's weird knowing the exact moment your sibling learned not to inherently trust everything you say, or consider you infallible.

At my house, we have a shitty 160 kb/s download speed on a good day. For some reason, my dad likes to think that he deserves the internet himself on Sundays because "we have every other day of the week to use it." Well, today things escalated when he yelled at my 17 year old sister and literally threw her out of the house and said "Don't come back." He stormed off, driving who-knows-where. Now the confession?
I wouldn't mind if he didn't come back.... and I've never had these kinds of thoughts about him before. He's just a straight up asshole, and it took me a while to see it. He's the kind of parent that plays a pretty face in public and is a straight up dick in private. I'm sick of living here with him, and I was planning on staying home for a few more months but now I'm contemplating leaving ASAP.

If you look at any of these STGY* or WAYT threads then you can tell that there's a certain connection between a selection of users that you can separate from newer users to the threads. You can generally base it on the attention posts receive.

I can understand you get that vibe from WAYT, and maybe from STGYM, but STGYH is a pretty open and friendly place to everyone
STMYH is a really nice community and i still dont think the STGYM is all that bad. I definitely see it in the WAYT thread but i wouldn't get pissy about it. Just get involved. Join into their conversation, its not that difficult.

I've never understood the appeal of having cold vegetables with a meal. I love vegetables if it works well in a meal, in situations where it synergizes well. But having a side dish of salad is just gross.
