This, the memory shortage and mining craze is getting out of hand. I'm in the same position since my two year old gaming PC just couldn't handle having Photoshop, AI, Autodesk Fusion and Vegas open almost simultaneously most of the time. Hell, having simply AI open kills the PC.
I did expect to spend $700 on the mobo+cpu+ram, what I didn't expect is the single piece of graphic card to cost just as much.
If only my company is big enough to be able to lease a computer. A 2 year lease contract is loads cheaper than buying a new one every 2 year. For now, I guess I'll just be patient with my current setup.

Well my cardboard cutout did. We left it by the office entrance folded away facing the wall and 2 kids decided to come by on sunday and smashed it.
