Sorta the same here. I stopped due to a combination of we had some financial difficulty for a few months and the fact that I tend to get on at 1 or 2 in the morning. A terrible time to be on on the eastern US server if you are looking to actually make progress as apparently everyone on at that hour is playing as a Tank and as such I never seem to get into a group during then. Granted it sort of is my fault for the only class I really made progress with being a Tank class.

Why do so many of the games I like die?
Gigantic especially bothers me. It's not dead yet, but it's certainly not doing well (it doesn't account for all players, but steamcharts says the average players for the last month was 118)- especially after Motiga was closed down and development shifted solely to Perfect World.

I'm also sad the state Gigantic is in. I bet had it not had come out in a market state where there a more hero shooters than you can count, it would have done much better.
At least Battlerite is still going strong.

I'd say Gigantic's competition was more OW and Paladins. Had the game not been in dev hell long enough to let those games come out first (Gigantic was announced long before either of those games.) It probably would have been seen as something more "fresh" than "just another hero shooter."
