Vegan food, and health food in general still get kind of a bad rap for taste. My aunt is almost exclusively holistic with her cooking and it is amazing
It's a lot different from say 20 years ago when I was a kid and health food tasted like cardboard
food science has improved a lot and healthy food tastes fuckin gooood

While I've never had a veggie burger, next time try putting a little spicy horseradish on it. Be it straight, mixed with ketchup or mixed with mayo, spicy horseradish might deliver the missing kick.
Pickled Jalapeno slices might do the trick too. That balance between spice and pickled twang does wonders.
