If I didn't like what was for lunch/dinner I'd just not eat

I'm stupid picky, like annoyingly picky when it comes to food. I don't know why I just can't stomach 90% of food.

Get creative. Swing by your local grocers meat area and just ask if they have any bones/excess that they're going to throw away. A good chance they'll either sell it to you for cheap or just outright give it to you. Same for the produce department. Ask if they have any produce they're about to chuck out. You'd be surprised how much decent produce grocery stores throw away because its a day or so past its shelf life. These ingredients you can generally get for cheap (I have in the past), and make excellent ingredients for soup stock.
Other than that, get savvy on sales. Check the papers to see whats bogo and where, and start saving coupons. We all poke fun at the old ladies with 1000 coupons in front of us, but in the end they're the ones stocked for a month and paid half the price.
And of course Youtube different cooking channels. Babish is first choice, but also check out Jeff Smith's Frugal Gourmet (it was a popular cooking show in the 80s). Townsends is also a great channel, it deals with 18th century cooking and it's techniques, but many of the recipes are pretty easy to get into.

Only benefit of Valentines Day for me is marked down candy the next day. Though the pickings are slim as the Walgreens near me seems to only have caramel and marshmallow candies. I happen to like chocolate and coconut.
