I'm setting up a VR booth business for bar mitzvahs and apparently im the first in the market my brother put me in touch with religious Jewish entertainers who are interested I'm buying a vive + dac tomorrow and then if it works out, I'll buy a second vive and build a small form factor pc. Dad is willing to invest in it if I staff it and he'll pay me 35 dollars an hour, he's making 75 an hour but he put up the capital so it's okay esp since I have the option to buy him out at any time

how the fuck did the casting director for The Martian get away with casting Chiewetel Ejiofor as a guy named Venkat Kapoor, and Mackenzie Davis as Mindy Park... do they just not know what names are common to what ethnicities, or what

I'm one step ahead but two steps back when it comes to thinking, it seems. I had the capability to research thoroughly the PC parts to pick out inorder to build a budget PC i've been happy with for two years now. But silly me didn't realize you're not supposed to clean a monitor with any sort of 'cleaner', just a simple dry wipe of the screen would've sufficed. I ruined an old monitor i've been using for five years now, luckily its just an occasional flicker. :frown:

I actually agree, whitewashing actors for literally zero reason other than potentially making it more palatable for white audiences is pretty questionable You [I]might[/I] have an argument for "well they're just the best actors for the role and their nationality/origin has no bearing on their character and the longer I write out this sentence the more I'm inclined to agree with it but I still think diversity in casting is important!!

But the actor is black and the source material never says their race, just that their parents were hindu and baptist, and that they were american it isn't whitewashing, and obsessing over race and name profiling shouldn't detract from your enjoyment of a story

oh yeah whitewashing is an issue but I meant to say that starting shit over a rating in here isn't worth anyone's time
