I've played / owned a lot of PS1/2 games. Although when I was younger I was definitely a Nintendo fanboy. Even now I think Nintendo characters (and games) are still some of the most memorable overall, even if the respective franchises can be (and are) milked to death.
I was and still am a Nintendo fanboy. Yes, the series that Nintendo have created have been milked to death, but I don't really care so long as the game is amusing, interesting, or entertaining enough to keep me playing. The New Super Mario Bros. games I haven't bothered to buy because they looked the exact same as the old ones, with slight differences. I bought Super Mario Galaxy and it was fun, but I'm not sure about Mario Galaxy 2. The Mario and Luigi games were all fantastic and I didn't regret buying any of them. The Zelda games are more or less the same story time and time again, but I find each interesting and play through each. Nintendo makes some damn memorable characters and games, and it's one of the few companies that I don't feel bad paying obscene amounts of money for their games. Even Ocarina of Time 3D I'm going to buy because even though I've beat OoT countless times it's still a good game, and the newer graphics and 3D is a nice bonus. It's the same reason why I bought the Wiiware version of Cave Story; because I was supporting a developer that made a fantastic game and I wanted to see what changes were made to a game I adore. I knew that the game was overpriced and underperformed, but I liked where my money was going so I didn't care.
Actually the New Super Mario Bros. games are awesome.
I've heard the Wii one is pretty good; the DS one wasn't that good. I do wish that there was some sort of continuity in the games beyond "Bowser kidnaps Peach", since the Mushroom Kingdom has been invaded by aliens at least twice now.

I just remember Sarasaland being invaded by Tatanga. I don't think that qualifies as part of the Mushroom Kingdom, what with a different king and princess and all. :goonsay:
There were the X-Nauts who invaded in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and the Shroobs that invaded in Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the X-Nauts. Though they were kind of unmemorable. And I didn't play the second or third M&L games so v:v:v

I posted it here for a reason.
Jack_Thompson and Nautsabes are the only people I am remotely compatible on last.fm

What I do know is that the Shroobs invaded when Mario and Luigi were still infants, and royally fucked everything up before Peach, Mario, and Luigi had to clean up the kingdom.
Yeah.. pretty sure my tastes aren't gonna match up with anyone in this thread.
