Why is trolling fun? - General

I'm not usually into trolling, but when it comes to battlefield fan boys on youtube, posting "COD > BF3" gets some pretty funny reactions.

"U mad" isn't trolling trolling can be really clever sometimes too, and everyone who doesn't think so hasn't been watching the right videos or whatever, they haven't come into contact with proper trolling

Why so serious, trolling is art, art is cool and in most cases, it is fun.

When people are granted anonymity they realize that they can do what they want with no physical or social repercussions in any severe or "real" way, this leads to many less-than-friendly to begin with individuals saying/doing things they would never normally do in real life, as a means of relieving stess, or purely for a sick twisted feeling of satisfaction gained from the misery of others (see "Schadenfreude"). Often on the internet people go out of there way to annoy and harass others for no real reason, often known as "trolling" by the online community. Humans are naturally resistant to change, and react with hostility when they witness something that at first appearance seems to be a threat. Also some insecure individuals often go out and try to "prove that they are real men" by openly seeking out things that can be considered "homosexual" or "queer" by others, in order to try and gain approval among them and feel more secure with themselves, while having actually proven nothing. It's a well known fact that humans are much more quick to hate and harm anything they are presented with, especially said insecure individuals, when they are presented with something that could be considered "not manly" or "girly" (see "brony-haters") Often these people to try and prove to others of a similar nature as themselves, that they are "real men" and openly hate or meet with hostility, anything they think would make them appear less of a man in the eyes of others. A similar thing happens with closet homosexuals. Often people who are attracted to the same gender, try to hide and and when given the chance, no matter what it is, try to prove that they are "strait" by trash talking or hating something that would appear "girly" or "gay". This is a result of many members of modern society still resenting homosexuals for outdated and pointless reasons (see "religion"). In the end it's obvious that when people gain anonymity, they act in drastically different ways than they normally would in real life, almost always only as a result of insecurity with ones self, closet homosexuality, or the far-to-common sick minded individual, who because of fear of social consequences, often releases there pent-up emotions behind the safety of the anonymity provided by the internet.

They see me trollin'... They hatin'... Sorry, had to. Anyway, trolling can be fun if the person getting trolled is an asshole. There's some things the trolled does, depending on the trolliness. 1. He ignores you. 2. He rages and continues playing, either still raging to you or just ignoring you. 3. He leaves. 4. He ragequits. And possibly the list just goes on and on... Believe me, I've trolled many people on the Internet before. :v:

Trolling is fun when done to underages, nothing more fun than watching a kid cry on the internet

I usually random troll at times. I'll act serious until I find a prey, one time I kept saying there was a Soldiers Stache in TF2, got 3 guys to also come and back me up. Had 1 player laughing like crazy, then the whole server decides to help. The kid gave up and ragequit. Trolling is only good when you have people laugh with you, not at you. And dumb trolling is well... dumb. Constantly saying "umadbro" or "come at me bro" will get you spotted out easily. But if you be original and witty, then you're doing a good job. Trolling is fun because it's a way to get a quick laugh, the victim may not enjoy it, but you and possibly many players have a good laugh and enjoy the show.

Only one type of trolling is fun, and that's the "not being a prick" one. The one that makes the person being trolled say "Oh you silly bastard"

Because you are making them inferior to you, which means you are superior to them. And, obviously, you're going to like this.

Trolling has been really going down lately. People are starting to learn to not feed the troll.

Trolling isn't fun... people mostly do it as a defense mechanism I think.
