She gets better later on in the game, especially when she can survive in the light, but in the beginning I just want to show her who's actually fighting and who's the one just sticking around to be able to usurp the usurper. And even then, she barely does anything in the counter-coup, and I have to do most of the work.

I liked Navi better as a companion. Navi actually gives insight to how to defeat enemies, and when she gets incapacitated she gets angry at not being able to help and refuses to suffer the same attack again, even though the battle was perfectly winnable without her. Tatl is kinda similar, but when you have new versions of old enemies and ask her for help, she'll go "Wait, you don't know how to beat the Skulltulla/Real Bombchu/Nejiron/Majora's Wrath? Well, stop being stupid and figure it out." She gets nicer when she realizes that you have awesome time-warping powers and have great experience in handing evil guys their asses on silver platters, plus you're doing it because you want to; not because it's your fate or some annoying predestined shit.
