The only questline I ever beat without getting too bored was the Shivering Isles one. It's just insane enough to stay fun for the most part.
While it was fun, it could've have so much better if they all didn't require you to go dungeon crawling.
I think my favourite questline by far is the Dark Brotherhood.
Dark Brotherhood was pretty awesome

um, have you played morrowind
[editline]15th January 2011[/editline]
Speaking of Morrowind I can't get distant land working. I can apply antialiasing and shaders and shit with MGE but distant land won't show up.

yes, I realize the combat in morrowind isn't great either

Ughh... I had to use imageshack.

At least there's tension in whether or not you're going to die in a fight in Morrowind.
In Oblivion you can just jump around and you're guaranteed a hit 100% of the time.

I wish I had a blu ray player just so I can watch Tron when it comes out

I'd much prefer hitting all the time to swinging right at an enemy's chest from a foot away with a long sword and missing.
Then you shouldn't be using awful weapons and/or weapons that you don't have a skill trained for.
Everything smells like spray paint! I should consider using a mask when making shirts.
Why am I not in the bed already?

"my bastard sword is of such low quality I can swing it from a foot away straight at an enemy and IT IS SO BAD QUALITY IT MISSES"
You do realize that just because morrowind is better than oblivion doesn't mean you have to defend it like every single element must be better right
Oh, I'm not, by any means. There are quite a few things that bother me in Morrowind, don't get me wrong.

[*] pointless hack and slash combat that requires no strategy whatsoever
[*] horrible leveling system that fucks you over if you don't carefully think out every single skill raise
[*] level scaling monsters with scaling equipment (this also means you will literally never have to buy equipment because you can get everything you need from bandits, which also means money is almost useless)
[*] boring landscape with copy-pasted non unique caves and dungeons

that concludes this session of why oblivion is a bad game with salsa, tune in next week for a list of things the modding community had to add because bethesda was too stupid to have it in the first place[/QUOTE]
I guess you're kinda right...
Maybe I got too intertained with the item costumization
Oblivion is a fun game, why does everyone pretend it's shit because it's not nearly as good as Morrowind. It's Invisible War syndrome.
Do you need to read HP Lovecraft's books in order or do they make sense standalone
They make sense standalone
Lovecraft doesn't really have any books, they're all short stories. Although At the Mountains of Madness probably qualifies. It's fairly long.
Ah cool.
Though you should probably read all of his stories and poems that belong to the "Cthulhu Mythos" in one big chunk.
And combat wasnt very easy for me aswell, since I kinda had a bad build, I think, or I never realized that simbol means I Leveled up, so the first time I slept I realized I was level 9 or 12. It took me more 8 levels to figure out how leveling works
The characters are pretty damn ugly
But the items were kinda cool, one of my favorite was the Glass Hammer, there was one I found in a Daedra Tower, I pretty much used this bitch 50% of my gameplay time, till I got the Daedra Battle axe, but then I stopped playing :C
The other 50% I used Rockshatter, some quest item (dwarven mace with lightning power) that was actually pretty hardcore, maybe even better than the glass hammer, problem was the soulshards to recharge it

Oh and yeah, acrobatics 86 and heavy armor, so I was like One-manned Cirque du Soleil with fullplate
