Unpopular Opinions V5: "I still don't like Half Life 2."
RTS games often have bullshit difficulty that renders them boring, and the challenge then exists for all the wrong reasons. Normal difficulty shouldn't mean stupid, mindless AI. Hard difficulty shouldn't turn the AI into terminators that harvest resources and research tech 5 times faster than you, while simultaneously spamming you with 3 times as many units as you can create within the first 10 minutes of a match. Because let's be real, that shit is annoying, not fun.
Earth 2150 is a god-tier game with no bullshit largely unknown to the gaming world that should get a remake. It's been released in 1999, one of the first 3D RTS games with incredible atmosphere, great amount of small details, a make-your-own unit system with researchable components, day-night system where you can turn of the lights on your buildings and units and go stealthy, you can terraform the land, build bridges, dig tunnels etc. The game features three factions and each of them has different ways of building, mining, research tree and components for their own unit types. For example the Euroasian Dynasty builds tough tanks, United Civilized States makes mechs, and the Lunar Corporation has high tech levitating vehicles which can go over any obstacle. Oh and the units can run out of ammo, gain experience, the campaign mode has a persistent base so you can always bring your veteran units to new missions. The only complaint is the user interface is kinda clunky, but it does the job.

You can't progress if everyone is trying to block each other from doing anything. Nothing could get done unless one party has absolute control.
the new shenmue looks like it's being developed by a bunch of amateur developers, all we've seen so far in the past 6 months are repeated screenshots of bad character models and the same giant ass pond and it literally looks like an unreal 4 tech demo.
this game is going to one of the biggest blunders ever and it sucks because yu suzuki is probably going to be putting his heart and soul into writing a good story for it.

What exactly do you mean? Are you talking about how games make hipfire hella innaccurate, or about the scopes themselves?
Both, the modification of making hip fire inaccurate and the forceful use of scopes through the changes to the cross-hair.

I agree with this as long there is no such thing as cross hair.
Episode VII was a 6.5/10 at best.
Acting was decent
Story was sub par (pretty much just retelling; Rey is the chosen one for sure this time; we need to destroy the death star)
characters were mediocre (like bb8 had more personality than Rey and Fin combined) and Kylo the moody bitch. (i know it runs in his family) but at least do one menacing thing aside from the first act.
the only really good thing it had going was the visuals and the nostalgia.
I know it's just setting up for the trilogy, but that's no excuse, every single movie should be able to stand on its own away from its sequels or prequels.
I know most people praise the shit out of this movie. but hey, unpopular opinion right?
Episode 7 is just the Halo 5 of Starwars, Halo 4 being episode 1-3
fair enough

People praise so much they are blind to its flaws.
smurf accounts should be banned in CS:GO

I think it's an absolutely fantastic movie that has its flaws, primarily Starkiller Base - But those flaws don't outshine the good by any margin.
Ya' know what really pisses me off? People bitching about Boomers. Not specifically like things which are worth bitching about, but the welfare leeches who bitch. Like the ones who complain that they are upset that the FDR system, which was pretty bad in most cases, was brought down ending a welfare state, while failing to mention that said system was already dead by the 50's with no involvement of the boomers.
Or if you really, really wanna get specific... When you have someone talking about being self-made, and people get up in angst because, "Well you joined the military and had a GI Bill!!" like its some sort of fucking insult to go do some work for your country and be rewarded for it with a college diploma which you then use to further your training into your selected career path.
Then, then you have the same fuckers who say the above, and then complain about how we need to remove benefits from military service, including medical benefits, because, "they dont deserve it, my lazy NEET ass deserves itz!!!" and that because you take any form of government loan, benefit, or service with the government, you are suddenly not a made person because supposedly having anything from the government makes you a NEET like them.
I mean seriously, what the fuck.
I don't understand why Steven Universe is so popular among young adults, i tried watching several episodes and just did not see the appeal and thought it had quite childish humour.
im not personally a fan of steven universe but apparently it gets better exponentially in later episodes

I think we should spend less on armies and more on potato cyst nematode control, especially increasing the wages of technical staff who maintain and operate machinery that washes soil samples in order to separate out the nematodes.
roblox is the best game ever
I don't like Paul Dano. He was good in Prisoners but otherwise he tends to over-act.

I'll be damned if he didn't smash that role though.

The early episodes honestly aren't that great. It takes a good third of the way into season one for the voice acting and animation to start becoming good and 2/3 of the way into the series to have a proper storyline. It took until the climax of season 1 for the fanbase to increase in size and decrease in quality.
I'm starting to really hate wallets. So much so that I plan on pulling out half my paycheck and paying my cellphone bill in dollar coins. Well, the latter is also because the fuckers won't stop calling me after I told them I was going to pay the bill next Wednesday, but I digress.
I'd really like videogames' sequels to be numbered again instead of being given just subtitles
I'd really like videogames' sequels to be numbered again instead of being given just subtitles
I can understand why they've dropped the subtitle nowadays. Call of Duty: Ghosts sounds a lot more important to the series than Call Of Duty 9. It sounds like a game that's more crusial to the series and as such players that aren't very into the series would be more likely to pick it up. Main problem is good fucking luck knowing the chronology of some series like Ass Creed that haven't used numbers in a while.
If Ubisoft called it "Assassin's Creed 9" instead of "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" it might start to sound like they ran out of ideas a decade ago, and we wouldn't want to give anyone such a mistaken impression.
Plus, there would be some confusion with mobile titles - technically, it would be "Assassin's Creed 20".

Unpopular opinion at least when it comes to FP: I don't think Markplier is that bad of a Youtuber. I mean he's no genius comedian but I wouldn't go as far as to put him on the same level of bad as
someone like Pewdiepie.
With Mark I can at least hear the story of the game he's playing and feel immersed with he's commentary. With Pewds all hear during he's let's plays videos is shouting and Swedish insults.
I'd really like videogames' sequels to be numbered again instead of being given just subtitles
Just do both like Star Wars does. The constant subtitle shit gets ridiculous though. Usually if you chopped off half of it you'd have a better title, so it's like what the fuck? Lichdom: Battlemage, or what about just Battlemage? Beyond: Two Souls, or how about just Two Souls or Beyond?

Yeah, I might be a little bit biased because I used to watch the crap out of his videos but he really isn't all that bad.
Though both Pewdiepie and Markiplier aren't necessarily bad youtubers, they just don't have their content targeted towards the people that tend to go on here. That is unless you go on the Rust section.
Movies and video games that have the "bookends" trope actually benefit from it greatly.
Best example I can think of is Bayonetta, which has 3 bookends between only 2 games.
The beginning of Bayo 1 makes more sense once you finish the game or at least get to the end.
The beginning of Bayo 2 makes more sense in the same way.
And then the entirety of Bayo 1 makes more sense the more you play Bayo 2.
Dragon Age Inquisition is a great game. I wouldn't like it a lot if I hadn't sunk in 25+ hours playing the game for all the quests.
The complex Mass Effect skills and equipment system is a lot better than the sequels, and probably will be better than any more Mass Effect games they decide to make.
the Biotic skills in ME1 were superb - I loved that literally the only stat they had was force, measured in newtons. Totally intuitive (not sarcasm)
