sorry, couldn't resist
as an aside, labels such as 'anarchist' or 'socialist' are thought-killing cliches which are used to control people and ideas, and their use in any context should be avoided
I don't think there should be a president at all. Placing executive power over a country with 350 million citizens into the hands of a single person is far beyond reasonable.
Having that many checks and balances is stupid. The US would be better off with just having a congress or adopting a parliamentary system. Also, the problem with the presidency is that it allows lazy people to throw all of societies problems onto one man or women.
I don't think there should be a president at all. Placing executive power over a country with 350 million citizens into the hands of a single person is far beyond reasonable.
what are you talking about the president of the republic here can barely do anything and the prime-minister is always getting contested and has to HEAVILY debate against the opposition to get anything his party wants forward
Also, the problem with the presidency is that it allows lazy people to throw all of societies problems onto one man or women.
this
I know you and Zuk want Hilary to win (because she's a woman?)
wat
wtf no
I'm voting for Bernie 100%. But if he doesn't win, I wouldn't want Hillary in office, she scares me and she's trying to appeal to the sjw's. So if Bernie dosen't win, I'd rather have Trump than Hillary in office. The only thing I admire trump for is the fact that he can't be bought out, he has all the money in the world and isn't owned by anyone, neither is Bernie. But I have a feeling Bernie won't win, unfortunately.
Trump would fucking destroy the states and not even realize it. It's a joke that he's gotten this far.
Yes, which is why I'm going to be one of those idiots who says "If trump wins I'm fleeing to *insert other country here*"
Yeah, States rights is his position. I know you and Zuk want Hilary to win (because she's a woman?) but lumping in candidates like Ron and Bernie with joke candidates like Deez nuts is just silly. They represent the views of quite a few people. The US government isn't doing enough for its poor, its in bed with corporate interests and its trampling on civil liberties. Quite a few people don't like this. Bernie isn't a joke candidate and has a chance of winning. Ron Paul probably didn't have a chance since Republicans were too fearful of Obama and war hungry.
I never meant to imply that Bernie is a joke candidate, I was only speaking for Ron Paul and Trump. Bernie is the opposite of a joke candidate, I've never seen someone so enthusiastic about their campaign and where they stand on issues. And no I don't consider Trump's inane screeching about walls and deportation sincere enthusiasm. In a 100% fair world the election would be Bernie VS Carson.
except it almost never is proch for example seems to think it's an almost entirely positive thing for men, but it's hard to trust women who have lots of sex
Womanizer isn't exactly a positive word if looking at the synonyms is any indication. http://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/womanizer Reading his posts I can't tell if he thinks what you say is the case. You should directly ask him instead of making accusations that he is applying double standards.
if trump gets in im ok with the rest of the world thinking the us is made out of 100% complete retards because it would be true at that point
To be honest, I think most people would think the same if you guys really vote Hilary in. Actually, I would see you lot as bigger retards if that happens. How the hell is Hilary even anywhere near getting elected for US presidency when her political record is loaded with scandals and shady as fuck dealings?
Isn't president just a flesh puppet for government, it is just the face for the whole thing.
Kind of. The way the US works is a bit different than parliamentary governments. In a parliamentary government the head of state (king/queen/president) and head of government (prime minister) are two separate people, the head of state is a glorified cheerleader and the head of government actually is involved in politics. In the US the president is both the head of state and the head of government, so they have to do both jobs. Now even then the president of the US doesn't actually have much power beyond their ability to veto, most of the president's authority actually just comes from their ability to cheerlead for things. Also the US government in general was made inefficient by design, neither the president or the congress are actually capable of doing much.
I'm 99.9% sure that Ron Paul's 'fanbase' were supporting him for irony's sake. Much like Trump's fanbase.
This is mostly true but people underestimate how many actual nazis, white nationalists and other nasty people support Trump. These guys don't post epic racist memes on 8chan just because they think they're funny and they'll make the SJWs mad. It's literally how they think. That's what they believe in. They think their freeze peach is under attack because they can't say the n-word freely anymore, so of course they'll love anyone who is "anti-PC" (codeword for bigoted dipshit).
I know you and Zuk want Hilary to win (because she's a woman?)
This one's a real doozy. Really setting the bar high for future Rangergxi posts. Yikes!
I honestly like to think that good music is in the ear of the beholder, but for me the 70s, 80s and early 90s had a certain charm that defies common perception. It's really damn good and enjoyable to listen to, from classic rock, pop to rap. It all had a certain feel to it, I just don't have the same interest in modern stuff. I believe in a "Golden Age" with regard to media, and I think music has had it's in the last 40 years and now were going through a drought.
Tumblr and a few college campuses literally ruined the definition of feminism and social justice; for me at least. If anyone asks my opinion on them my knee-jerk reaction will be something like "feminism and social justice is stupid".
Feminism IS gender equality, anything that doesn't fit that description ISN'T FEMINISM
Feminism IS gender equality, anything that doesn't fit that description ISN'T FEMINISM
Technically you are right, but I can't help but think of the radicals when I hear that word now.
Transformers fanbase is the best/worst fanbase. Why? Simple: People are blowing off the new Platinum Transformers Game(a G1 tribute I might add) because Megatron doesn't turn into a gun! "Megaton doesn't turn into a gun?! Fuck this PC censoring garbage!!!11 Fuck Hasblo111 I'm gonna play with my Man from U.N.C.L.E. custom pistol and not support this clearly awesome game because I'm such a TF fan!! -One(out of many) dumb comments. There's a second reason, but it's rather small compared to the "complaint" above me. It's apparently "Too Japanese." Statements that sound a tad racist. "I remember when G1 had awesome animation that used sparingly to great effect. Now Optimus is throwing rabid punches against face-less mooks like an episode of DBZ. Transformers is an American series, keep it that way." -Someone who hasn't seen Masterforce.
No we shouldn't do that either, it makes the government trigger happy, destructive of privacy and equips people with the tools needed to start public hysteria. Dozens of schools closing down on the slightest and dime a dozen threats, NSA/techcompany espionage and TSA-ification of things are impossible to detach from the "hunt the boogey man" political philosophy.
First of all just to be absolutely certain I do not suggest that we should actually go and meetup at a cafe nearby the whitehouse. Not only would I be very late if I left now its also just a bad idea in general. On a more serious note my example is sloppy in that it doesn't sound very serious. But the point I was trying to make is that calls to action to incite violence with planning, intent and capability (For example the inciter has a past history of being a religious extremist and a notoriously large private collection of bombs). Telling such people that they aren't allowed to use social media for that purpose is fine with me.
I honestly like to think that good music is in the ear of the beholder, but for me the 70s, 80s and early 90s had a certain charm that defies common perception. When looking back at the 70's we conveniently forget the bieber equivalents. Doesn't help that everyone and their mum can release music these days which makes it even harder to find the true gems due to the huge amount of music.
You do realize the "Tumblr SJW" crap started as and has for the most part continued to be a /pol/ op right?
For real in my gender and women's study class today, you know the subject most related to feminism as a whole, we talked solely about male problems and how society does not address them very well. This is at a university known for historically being very liberal, progressive, social justice-y, whatever word you want to use. People really need to realize most of the shit you read on the internet that has extreme opinions is usually trolls/bait, and on a very rare occasion is actually a real person. Also, people can call themselves whatever they want on the internet. I could say I'm the president of the United States and then say that I think everyone who lives in New England is smelly even though I have no actual proof that I am the president or that Obama actually thinks that everyone in New England is smelly.
You do realize the "Tumblr SJW" crap started as and has for the most part continued to be a /pol/ op right?
Academic feminism is pretty awful. If you want what is academically considered academic feminism, lookup people like Judith Butler. She is probably the most prominent feminist theorist alive right now. (Although I've never really heard the term academic feminism used and in my 2 seconds of google searching it didn't really bring up much so I'm just going off that it is university taught feminism because that what makes the most sense to me in terms of the name.)
"haha look at that fat rainbowhaired feminazi fuck the jews amirite? hahah lets go to /pol/ and ironically talk about killing muzzies (but actually we're pretty fucking racist)"
Well Neo-conservatives generally want to fund and protect Israel... Pretty sure /pol/ isn't as popular as you think it is.
Feminism IS gender equality, anything that doesn't fit that description ISN'T FEMINISM
Feminism is a great many things both good and bad because its a huge political and ideological machine. I don't let some dictionary definition decide what an organization/movement encompasses as a whole.
This isn't really the place for it but academic feminism usually falls under philosophers and general sociologists, not random students blabbering about hashtags. But ultimately the only thing that matters is reality. For example saying feminism is for true equality for everyone because some academics promote X and Y doesn't work if it doesn't have any popular support. Its primarily women oriented in the major goals it picks which leads me to believe its primarily a movement for the equality of women. Which isn't a bad thing per se as specialization increases efficiency however it means I can't accept certain dictionary definitions. Heck even the reddit subreddit dedicated to feminism (admittedly only 50k people) has that definition and a woefully inadequate mens issues section (Its really a passing glance in comparison to the rest). As of right now I am not convinced that feminism is a good vehicle for delivering equality for all. ............ On a completely unrelated and somewhat amusing note I found this: https://wcc.stanford.edu/resources/feminist-websites-blogs-and-more Recommending high quality content such as jezebel and feminist frequency.
If many recent big games releases are anything to go buy, the myth of the "PC gaming master race" (which I never abide even if nowadays I play mostly on that platform) has been finally knocked down several pegs Apparently videogame companies finally realized that you can't push graphical and technical quality on a computer indefinitely without expecting some troubles in return and that people can't buy on the spot increasingly expensive rigs once half a year or something
the mindset has spread to other places, the internet in general used to be a lot more left-leaning and rational until dumb controversies involving feminists got big, now its just "lol lets say fuck milennials and fuck lie-berals and libtards donal trump 2016" oh and /pol/ is 8chan's second most active subreddit, i don't doubt it is one of the more active boards on 4chan
Before that people were ridiculously left wing. I'm sure you remember, even on fp, SH for some time was basically tumblr I distinctly remember that because I would always say the most ridiculous shit that i knew people wanted to hear just so I would get them juicy agree ratings
