It used to be tumblr, now it's stormfront, the argument that needs to be made is which is better.
Neither, we should become MPC
I honestly like to think that good music is in the ear of the beholder, but for me the 70s, 80s and early 90s had a certain charm that defies common perception.
Okay, opinions and all, I get it but you must be wearing some serious rose-tinted goggles to think early 90s music was charming.
Its not limited to just Tumblr though.
These kind of people aren't just limited to the internet and can cause some bullshit problems at the place they're at, but they're also not as common as some people think. [editline]7th November 2015[/editline]
It used to be tumblr, now it's stormfront, the argument that needs to be made is which is better.
I think it's reached it's own level of surreal shit
If faux-feminists were nothing to be worried about we wouldn't have dumb, unfair affirmative action policies. But it turns out a lot of them think shit like this is alright, otherwise they would actually protest against it.
the mindset has spread to other places, the internet in general used to be a lot more left-leaning and rational until dumb controversies involving feminists got big, now its just "lol lets say fuck milennials and fuck lie-berals and libtards donal trump 2016" oh and /pol/ is 8chan's second most active subreddit, i don't doubt it is one of the more active boards on 4chan
/pol/ isn't even in the top 5 for activity. /b/ and /v/ are the top two, then it drops trmendously from there.
If you think bringing up dumb shit kids say on tumblr is a legitimate criticism that somehow invalidates all of feminism, you're just as stupid as those kids and I'm not even gonna bother talking to you. When your reaction to even the most basic and common sense feminist/social justice discourse is "b-but tumblr!", it's painfully obvious to everyone that 1) you know fuckall about it and you have "learned" about it on the internet, 2) you haven't listened to the real life grievances marginalized people face everyday by, you know, just talking to them about it, and 3) you have no real arguments. It's literally just concern trolling. People like our pal Ranger here act like it's the darn radical ess-jay-dubyus that turn people away from feminism but the truth is that no one else takes them seriously except for dudes who just want to complain about it/have severe issues with women.

Even if they're retarded, try to educate and help them understand what's actually going on. Though regarding you in particular, you've been pretty good on that.
Bioshock 2 is better than the first
Bioshock 2 is better than the first
bioshock 2 was boring and stupid
The only good Bioshock is Infinite. [editline]7th November 2015[/editline] Mainly because I love the setting, not enough games use the 1910s.
Feminism. Feminine. Female. A goal can be achieved by many different ideologies in many different ways. Being against feminism doesn't necessarily mean you're against gender equality. People tend to look down on feminism not because of its end-goal but the way in which it tries to achieve that goal - feminization of the opposite sex. Feminism is an ism as you probably know:
Used to form nouns of action or process or result based on the accompanying verb in -ize.
And with every ism comes an ization:
-ization A suffix forming nouns denoting the act, process, or result of doing something, or of making something
To radicalize something in the name of radicalization is to make it radical, so to feminize something in the name of feminism is to make it feminine. If the male sex were to be feminized, perhaps there would be equality as both men and women would be feminine - they would be the same as they are so there would be no differences that naturally cause a level of conflict, even if it is hidden in a tiny cluster within oneself and their mind. So to think that anything not labelled feminism isn't gender equality is retarded. You could have masculinism trying to make women masculine. You could have an obscure third gender try to make both men and women the same as itself.
People seem to think that criticizing social justice warriors is criticizing people that actually advance social justice. That would be very incorrect.
People seem to think that criticizing social justice warriors is criticizing people that actually advance social justice. That would be very incorrect.
There is a difference between being an asshole and an advocate.

Like seriously feminism is not a conspiracy theory to end masculinity. Like I would send you articles and stuff to prove it but you should just first start with the basic definition and move on from there.
snip
Don't look too much in the term dude. Look towards the movement itself, and I mean the entirety of it.
did he just say feminism is trying to "feminize" men or did I read that wrong
I wish someone would make a movie or animation based on Pier Anthony's books and Asimov's Foundation series.
Well shit. I said something dumb and the whole thread got derailed Sorry about that
Well shit. I said something dumb and the whole thread got derailed Sorry about that
Don't worry. Somebody said something even dumber.
Well shit. I said something dumb and the whole thread got derailed Sorry about that
I've always felt that this thread is about unpopular opinions and then discussing said unpopular opinion, so in that case you didn't really derail much. Just the problem is certain opinions are more heavy heated than others, so topics like feminism will spark a greater conversation than just saying that cucumbers are weird or whatever.
So long as the cost of storage space goes down, i dont think the size of media that can be placed inside of a harddrive is a problem. Yes I'm talking about 50gb+ games.
I wish someone would make a movie or animation based on Pier Anthony's books and Asimov's Foundation series.
Piers Anthony's Xanth series would make for some really interesting movies. So would his Apprentice Adept series (though the nudity could be an issue ratings-wise) and the ESP Worm.
I Am Legend was a decent movie, but I'd love if there was a remake that's more true to the original story (stories?). Will Smith should reprise his role as the Legend.

The foundations series would have to be adapted to the movie screen. I want however because I see the same thing happening in real life as in hte books. Someone did mention a dark age is coming. I believe it. Steven Brust is another would make for interesting movie plots. Then there is The Stainless Steel Rat. The Man Who Never Missed by steven perry would be another great movie or animation. One that would be kick ass would be "The Weapon" by Michael Z. Williamson
Killing a major character is a pretty big thing in a story, and can help with plot development. Killing multiple major characters again and again, however, is not plot development. Characters are made for readers/viewers to get attached to and connect with. We want to see good guys win and bad guys lose. We also want to see good guys suffer and triumph through trying times, and we want to see the bad guys have the upper hand at points to keep the action going. If you continue to kill characters just to say "it advances the plot!" or "it allows me to add more twists to the story", that does not help the plot and instead turns away readers/viewers, because it paints the entire story as just "Hope you don't like this character!" That's what killed A Song of Ice and Fire and The Walking Dead for me. I understand that these are pretty chunky stories and some characters bit it, yes, but after a while, character deaths don't phase me and instead they just annoy me since it just feels like shit writing.
The problem with 50GB games is that very often they're 50GB for no good reason. Like Titanfall and its 30GB of uncompressed audio in all languages.
Theres a reason for that being a problem, however I feel that its still reasonable for games that are 50gb to exist when better data storage solutions are slowly becoming available. Id say in 10 years time 50gb - 75gb could probably become the new "standard" size for game data, and people will be busy having problems over 150gb games. When I posted what I posted i didnt really consider Titanfall and other games like it though. I was thinking more of games that effectively used the space, not games that just wasted it on useless data.
