That's an unpopular opinion indeed.
I really can't stand Filthy Frank
who
I guess. I'm not really sure honestly. I used to like his videos but I just haven't found them funny for a while.
The ET one was the last one I watched and it's kind of turned me off him for a while. It was just a bunch of straight weed, drugs, alcohol and sex jokes and all the footage was just smoking weed and drinking and I know it's Frank but I don't really find that shit funny anymore plus if any of it was real I'm not really comfortable with that so I just kinda stopped for a while, not to mention it seems like every other video features some kind of dead animal which I'm also not down with
idk if that's all he's doing but I don't feel super tempted to go back and check
I'd rather he just do stuff like eating nasty shit with his friends and stupid sketches rather than being a living 420 montage

Lets be honest here, what the hell is even the point of that post? What does anyone gain by praising an arbitrarily defined group as better than another arbitrarily defined group beyond yet another way to feel superior to others?
[editline]19th February 2016[/editline]
I know its easy having these neat little labels to use on people, but nobody is that one-dimensional. I could easily name a few dozen posters here that are as liberal as they come on certain issues, but sound like every other conservative out there on others (which is not at all a bad thing!). So maybe instead of trying to separate everyone you dislike into these foggy groups so that you know which of your memorized little speeches to use for each post, why don't you try focusing on actual arguments rather than the people making them?
Yup. The more people try to group others, the more it becomes clear that their goal is dismissal. I've personally been trying to stop doing this myself. I'm not perfect in the slightest, but I don't do the inverse of calling out "PC police" by saying people who disagree with #BLM are inherently racist or whatever.
Grouping also gives people the means to construct their personal concept of what it means to be part of a group without interaction. This is the basis for racism, for example.
Suicide Squad looks fucking terrible
Suicide Squad looks fucking terrible
I'm gonna give it a shot because I want to believe
but yeah, it kinda does.
Suicide Squad looks fucking terrible
I want to see it because it looks so bad.
Transgender support on facepunch is a little too extreme. I'm all for transgender rights but the degree of people on facepunch that will militantly attack people as if they are racists for example thinking that someone who is transitioning shouldn't be allowed into the opposite sex's restroom is crazy. Anyone with an alternate opinion is disgusting and doesn't understand, is a complete bigot, ect. Look, call people out for being blatantly ignorant, but being so confrontational isn't helping anything. One person not agreeing with you 100% is not a cause to raise a torch.
That's because being transphobic is on the same level of being racist or sexist and a lot of disagreements over things like bathrooms are fueled by ignorance and stereotypes. It's no different for anything else. You can't say "Y'know, I'm all for gays doing whatever but maybe not them getting married in Churches" without getting shit on either.
To be honest, in my opinion Facepunch isn't going hard enough. Anyone being transphobic ought to be banned for a week, same way we treat racists, sexists, and homophobes, which is a ban reason I've seen, but it doesn't seem to happen regularly though and only to the most flagrant shitposters.
The whole marrying thing is mostly "it is religious thing" but at same time isn't there like legit perks tied to it? I mean like being automaticly put into a will if spouse dies etc, if so at that point it should be allowed to everyone.
I am not expert of marriage nor religion so if what I said isn't true then excuse me.

you don't necessarily have to be transphobic to think that but at the VERY least you haven't thought that shit through at all and probably know very little about how transitioning actually works

"Support for minorities is way too extreme here"
"Support for minorities is way too extreme here"
It is mostly "You are with us or against us" which comes out quite hostile and why majority just try to not to get tangled into these and just observe what is going on.
So often best thing to do is to do nothing.
Again best thing would probably have been doing nothing and not posting this.
unisex bathrooms are a dumb idea
the problem with jumping into that argument right now, is that it might seem like this discussion started because of trans people pushing for things like unisex bathrooms out of nowhere, when in reality, what kicked it off was the banning of transgenders from bathrooms, out of an unwarranted fear that it's only an excuse for perverts to dress up as the opposite sex and creep up on others
unisex bathrooms are a dumb idea
Why though? I've been to several places where unisex bathrooms was just a couple of stalls and places to wash your hands. Most places the only difference is that in the male bathrooms has urinals
Really most places I've been there is no difference other than the urinals.
All the anti-trans bathroom shit is irrational as hell. There's no reason to be uncomfortable with someone of the opposite sex, trans or not, using the same bathroom as you at the same time. Everyone's squicky about it but, why, what is going to happen? Nothing. Literally nothing. We're not going to start raping each other just because we went in the same bathroom. Guys aren't going to start dressing as women and claiming to be trans just to get a chance to...again, what? Listen to girls take a shit?
If society actually had a good reason, then I would be inclined to listen. Societal discomfort is not a good reason. I'm sure white people were all kinds of uncomfortable sharing bathrooms with minorities too, and I don't care. Same reason women should be allowed to go topless.

The reason I stopped posting in the progressive threads, other than because I don't have time to argue with people on the internet when I can actually be doing real stuff to further my views, is because I have become really extreme in my views on stuff. I feel that gender should go away completely, not being replaced with anything since I feel it is just some arbitrary label to make a certain subset of the population feel out of place, while just justifying sexism/transphobia for all the others. So in my perfect world, there are no gender segregated bathrooms, locker rooms, dressing rooms, etc.
My views just cause derailing of threads just so people who are firm in their beliefs can try to change beliefs that I hold songly, so there is not a point anymore.

...you think gender was invented to make people feel out of place?
...you think gender was invented to make people feel out of place?
I think society is at a point where gender doesn't need to exist anymore. I know my views are extreme and not liked, but it's something I hold strongly.
The problem though im seeing is that many people are being labeled transphobic for having views that are not. The gay analogy doesn't work for me because its the same thing im talking about, its not homophobic to think that gay's shouldn't marry in churches because I believe gay marriage is more of a legal thing for tax reasons, and not necessarily a religious thing. Some would disagree, but it's priorities. Someone getting shit on for having an opinion that is not transhpobic but is not 100% in support of transgender supporters opinions is not right in the slightest.
In my opinion if you label yourself a trans rights supporter, then you also have to accept allowing trans people to use the bathroom of their choice, for example. If you believe that someone is a woman, but then force them to use male segregagted facilities, then you really don't think that they are a true woman. At the same time, if you believe that only people who went through gender affermation surgery can use the bathroom of their choice, then it shows that transgenderism is an artificial thing to you, and cannot be naturally lived out without some sort of medical procedure.
(All opinions of course. People probably think differently than I do.)
Zoolander was really overrated.
I think the whole trans issue has gone a bit too far in some ways. Not because I'm against trans people in any way, but I just think gender identity is such a non-issue that there's no reason to bring it up. I mean, fuck, if you consider yourself a dude even though you were born a girl, that's fine. Same as it would be vice versa.
I guess I just genuinely don't care what a person's gender is, and I'm sick of hearing about the whole ordeal.

it will start being a non issue when people stop being ostracized, beaten or killed over it
Neil Gaiman is my favorite author but American Gods is kind of overrated

The fact that people care that much about whether or not someone prefers to be referred to as a willy-wielder or a clam crusader is absolutely baffling.
I thought the awkward symbiote motivated dance strut scene in Spider-Man 3 was really funny and actually a redeeming moment in a movie that otherwise isn't as bad as people have said. I used to think it was bad, but then I re-watched it and realized that there's a lot about it to like and that I was swept up in the hatemob.

It's unfortunately become the staple for "Too many villains crammed into a movie at once" deal that we see a lot with superhero movies these days.
However, compared to a majority of Non-Disney/Marvel films, the original 3 spidermen movies are actually really good
Thing is, it has the "too many villains" problem, but it probably fucks it up way less than other movies with the same problem.
i think it shouldn't be too hard to make a movie with lots of villains
just focus more on the villains than the hero.

I think it's how you say it as opposed to the argument. I could honestly hold a nice conversation with someone that disagreed with me on the subject so long as they weren't saying, "no way in fuck imma let some trannies in my bathroom those fukin creeps".
