Characters are made for readers/viewers to get attached to and connect with. We want to see good guys win and bad guys lose. We also want to see good guys suffer and triumph through trying times, and we want to see the bad guys have the upper hand at points to keep the action going.

There is nothing wrong with killing off tons of well developed major characters. In galactic civil wars and zombie apocalypses it only makes sense that people will die.
If anything it makes it more interesting since it adds more gravity to the danger faced by the characters.
The Walking Dead didn't get boring because it killed off characters. It got boring because the show wasn't that well written and started to rely on random troubling events.
The Steam Machines should be delayed for a 2016 release. The Steam Linux Library isn't anywhere near ready in 3 days.
I admittedly like new Mario games. I mean it seems like everyone who isn't a mom/little kid is down on the new ones because Nintendo isn't innovating their games a whole bunch and creating new IP and they're just rehashing the same franchises over and over and I agree with all that, but dammit, the games are just solid as hell, and very pleasantly light-hearted, which, having a game have a smile on its face is pretty unique in today's video game market god dammit
idk I totally want them to change and all but Mario is just good
I may not enjoy playing the games, and I don't see myself purchasing a Wii U or any nintendo console anytime soon, but the Mario games always felt super cheerful and silly and I just let their samey-ness pass by because of that.

It's one of those series where you just feel good when you play it
Refusing to be someone's friend does not make you a "mean" person.

People actually think that?

I don't like the new 3D Mario games because they keep cutting out movement options, Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine have the most movement tech. In 3D Land you can't even do long jumps or side jumps, you can do the long jump animation but it takes you exactly as far as the regular jump.
I don't like the new 2D Mario games mostly because I hate the hyper clean style they have, it looks so bland an uninteresting.
Killing a major character is a pretty big thing in a story, and can help with plot development.
Killing multiple major characters again and again, however, is not plot development.

Eh except for all the stories where the bad guys win in the end that get praised for it. I like bad endings myself.
Either way killing characters shows that a series has balls. From a marketing perspective its better to leave likeable characters alive endlessly so that you can keep pumping out more content and brand imagery.
A series that is willing and capable of killing characters is typically actually actively going somewhere with its plot.
As ranger stated especially given the context and scale of ASOAF having the traditional erryburdy lives herpily uver ifter style of writing would be terrible.
Islam is just a religion and all religions should be treated with dignity and respect.
Technically you are right, but I can't help but think of the radicals when I hear that word now.
And this is the sort of mentality that demonizes things like religion, feminism, and republicans/democrats.

I don't like the newer 3d Mario games (not sure on Galaxy because somehow until now I've never had a chance to actually try it) because the camera angles suck. In both 3d World and 3d Land like 90% of my deaths are related to the fact I can't judge distances worth a damn with those camera angles. Judging distances properly for 3d platforming is already a big enough pain in the ass even with good camera angles. I dunno why they needed to change it to make things worse.
I still don't see the "Well when guys get a bunch of girls they're called players and not sluts." After the age of 15 whenever I see a guy hopping around with multiple girls I instantly think less of him, and most people I know think the same way. It's only idiot men who think hopping around is the way to go, as is for women who think it's okay to sleep with every guy they can.

Why? Religions are belief systems, but nowhere else in the realm of human thought are belief systems treated with the same kind of untouchability. We usually don't maintain a respectful distance from nazism or eugenics or nihilism or objectivism, or even different economic policies, but suddenly when a belief system concerns the nature of the universe, it becomes something you have to respect?
As far as ideas go, what makes religions special?
Pixel art ≠ terrible graphics
This is late as fuck, but you are objectively wrong. Pixel art is simply inferior graphically speaking to basically anything else short of text based. Now, the aesthetics on the other hand, something that Undertale excels at, is what can really make a game look good or bad. As such, despite having terrible graphics, Undertale is still visually appealing because it has a strong aesthetic sense.

You're equating religions to extremism when in reality they're mutually exclusive things.

Undertale is bad even for pixel graphics. On the plus side it's very visually distinct.
A good 3D graphics comparison to this would be TF2.
TF2 looks like trash but it's easily identifiable.

It's generally nice to respect belief systems when they're not about being absolute shit. Sure, you can get mad at religion when it is the focal point of shittery, but when it's not and you're just shitting on it for the sake of shitting on it well then you're just being a dick.
On the point of Islam, it really is pretty much the same as Christianity and Judaism, and deserves the kind of everyday respect that the other two normally afford, which it really doesn't currently.
The only religion I see that gets universal undeserved hate and disrespect is Otherkin. I don't remember reading about extremist Otherkin conquests killing thousands in any history books before. And saying they're deranged because of their beliefs is no different than saying a Christian or Jew or Muslim is deranged because of their beliefs.

How the fuck is Otherkin a religion though?
No seriously, what the fuck am I reading?
Oh, and time for another unpopular opinion that shouldn't be considered unpopular, those special snowflake pronouns are one of the most stupid things to be ever convinced. What the hell is considered wrong with he/she/they? We don't need such crap like xe, xir or whatever bullshit pronoun they are using these days. I really don't get it. Is it one of those ironical jokes which got out of hand by accident?

the real question is who the fuck cares
Schindler's List is a ridiculously overpraised movie. It's average at best.
You're equating religions to extremism when in reality they're mutually exclusive things.
I'm equating religion to any other system of thought. No set of ideas is immune to criticism.
The only religion I see that gets universal undeserved hate and disrespect is Otherkin.
???
A. "otherkin" is not a religion
B. the hate and disrespect are not undeserved because the entire idea is stupid, and the people who believe it are embarrassing
fuck treyarch
they didn't give a shit about blops 1 for the pc, and apparently didn't learn
as much as I used to love call of duty it's starting to get really bad, haven't played the most recent few, just looks like halo without shields at this point

This. I was really into CoD around 2009-2010 and played the shit out of MW2 on PC. When Black Ops 1 was released, I was really surprised just how terribly it ran on my computer, which at the time wasn't very good but played MW2 decently well.
Unpopular opinion: Metal music edition.
I really loved the Tomorrow We Die Alive album, and I think Soul Sphere is pretty great. No, it will never reach the level of The Discovery - but that's perfectly okay. Born of Osiris aren't the same band that they were in 2011, and the metal scene isn't the same metal scene that it was in 2011 either. Times change, people leave bands (or get thrown out of them), and preferences shift. They have to make the best use of the talents they have, and I think Soul Sphere does that really well. Every artist will have their magnum opus, it's not right to expect that exact same performance on every subsequent album.
I'm sick of all these Todd Howard avatars.
I don't think anyone would have cared nearly as much about Trudeau's cabinet had he just said "I picked the most qualified people out of the candidates I had for those positions", rather than "It's 2015". The year is not an argument, nor will it ever be. It was a boneheaded reason to give. Like I don't really care who's in his cabinet (doubly so because I'm not Canadian), I just think it was a really retarded answer. Like he's got 50/50 gender parity? Fantastic! That still doesn't make *current year* an argument!
At least that's what it seems like from an outsider's perspective.
the fallout 4 circlejerk is so fucking obnoxious
I hate every Valve game.
Except HL1 Opposing Force.
the fallout 4 circlejerk is so fucking obnoxious
THANK YOU.
Nobody else will agree with me on this because I get told "just let people have their fun". Same thing happened with the MGS V circlejerk months ago.
I hate every Valve game.

HL2 is objectively the best single-player first person shooter

blame modern media. There's nothing wrong about getting excited by video games, but (as one example) sites like reddit, which are designed to funnel mainstream content down people's throats, create these weird positive-reinforcement culture tsunamis which occur once every two months.
and that's why I've honestly started to hate the internet
fucking memes
