Genuinely unpopular opinion: I think you could make this exact same video using popular rap or reggae in general
[sp]that being said I don't listen to too much of either and I actually like most reggae I've heard[/sp]

I'd say punk, actually. They claimed to be nonconformists but really I think they just bought into the same cultural bullshit as everyone else, just in a different way.
Andy Warhol was a living gimmick.
Mania is fun!
forcing everyone to attend public school would accelerate the homogenization of culture, strip everybody of civil liberties, and put absolute power in the hands of the people designing the curriculum.
fighting racism and elitism isn't important. Nurturing a public culture that gives people the mental independence to challenge social issues on their own is what you're really looking for, and forcing everybody to institutionalize their children into legally safe developmental tombs with padded walls and bathroom passes is exactly the wrong way to do that.
if you think the purpose of the law is to provide the ruling class with tools to change a country's culture, you are fucked up
I think measures should definitely be taken to increase the quality of public schools and make it an attractive option even for rich people.
A bit of strong arming is in order but rangers proposition is indeed a bit to extreme IMO.
Alternatives should always remain.
Foods I genuinely don't like:
Bacon
This is not a hipster thing, although I do think the annoyingness of the bacon fandom has kind of called more attention to the fact that bacon isn't great. I'm no stick in the mud - I'll eat bacon - but it doesn't add anything and can sometimes recklessly detract from foods.
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Mashed potatoes are boring, and gravy doesn't compensate enough for how bland mashed potatoes are.
Roast beef or pork
I'm not a fan of the texture or the taste. I've had everyone's roast beef, and it's always so mundane - mundane enough that I question whether or not I should skip the meat. And the idea that I'd skip the meat is terrifying.
Cake frosting
Generally, cake frosting is the worst part of the cake. The cake is fluffy and great on its own, and then someone decides to plop on some sugary, fake-tasting nonsense all over it. Frosting is great when it isn't normal cake frosting, but something crazy awesome like fudge, or something crazy okay like German chocolate.
Whipped cream
Tasteless sugar froth that adds nothing to anything I like. When I'm ordering flavored coffee, I always turn down the whipped cream simply because I'll get more coffee.
I've been told that whipped cream can be good in some "heavier", more honest form, but I guess I just haven't seen it. The stuff I usually get is just lame.
Hot Pockets
No comment necessary. This is one of the very few foods I'll turn down every time.
Hot dogs
I'd rather have a giant sausage. Polish sausages, smoked sausages, spicy sausages - all of these taste and feel better than hot dogs.
I know Cloud is a sword wielder but at least his sword looks more unique than most of the sword wielder's swords in smash.

it doesn't sound like you dislike it as much as you are critical of its use

I literally just finished a four page essay on why he's a gimmick, you have good timing
I get lots of fedoras for this opinion, but I still think rock is mostly dead. Or is a shadow of it's former self. And yeah that is saying a lot because rock encompasses so many sub genres. I don't know, every band that I listen to is either some boring indie rock band with no balls, or some band that tries way too hard to be like a 70s band, or something along the lines of mediocrity like that.
Most modern rock bands that I listen to aren't dogshit, but it lacks something. Nobody cares about blues anymore I guess. I still think the blues should always have some sort of spec of influence on rock music. Nobody really likes learning how to really play like a motherfucker either unless you are in some nerdy prog metal band or some shit, and most of those bands lack a soul.
Another thing is rhythm, most drummers or bassists just have no sense of tension and release when it comes to rhythm, there is just no groove at all. I like grooves, I like swings. You don't have to play complex to be good, you just have to really emphasize what's happening in the song and then add your own twist here and there.
Another thing is riffs. I just never hear good riffs anymore, you don't have to think super outside of the box to create a good riff. You just have to really really believe in it. If you have 1 awesome riff, and your band is good enough, you can kick some ass with just that ONE riff in the song. Black Sabbath did it, and their early hard-blues-metal stuff still sounds more badass and satisfying than any new metal that's out, by miles even.
I dunno, there's still lots of decent stuff out there. But there hasn't been anything in many years that has really blown the roof off for me. The quality of playing has just been going down and down and down. I am one of the people that believes that if a band is to be really good, all the cards have to be laid down onto the table for that band from each member. You really can't have one foot in and one foot out.
Private schools should be banned. All children should be required to go through the public education system.
This would ensure that rich people can't just throw their kids into private schools and let the public system rot. To make it even better have the schools be randomly assigned within a region/county.
Let the middle school and highschool public education system in America rot. Maybe Canada just has better schools I guess.

I don't think dragon shouting was a gimmick. It made sense in the lore and was useful in gameplay.

the problem you're describing is that tremendously skilled groundbreaking rock bands are no longer the cultural tour de force that they were in the 60s and 70s
they still exist, they're just not universally loved
(disclaimer: I'm not saying Mastodon is groundbreaking)
People rely on the "Science will fix it" thing too much. Somehow there's this stupid idea that if you throw enough money at a scientist they will invent or create anything from space travel to Mars to Fusion power.
Science is ultimately a finite source of solutions to problems, and the solutions it produces usually end up being some form of really expensive invention with limited benefits.
The strategy of investment into science is ultimately subject to diminishing returns.

Unless the current date is somehow at least 1-1/2 years before I was born I'm not sure he counts as a living gimmick. :v:

I swear that said "is" when I quoted it, lol.
Judging from screenshots coming from desktops with graphic cards and CPUs far superior to my gaming laptop, Fallout New Vegas has miles better graphics than 4.
Speaking of which, unless there's any other reason to buy it other than the game itself, buying it now is silly when Christmas is just around the corner.

thanks for confirming your opinions aren't serious
I believe the only way to be tolerant is to do what this person did.

Fallout 4's graphics are pretty good
I mean, they aren't eye splittingly beautiful, but the lighting and animations look pretty acceptable for a Bethesda game

It's dry, greasy, and not full of a flavor that I really enjoy. It's something I genuinely don't like.

I don't believe I have. Next time I'm at the store I'll see if I can pick some up and try that.

There's less fat and grease involved, and the taste isn't annihilated by the crisping of it. I really like it.
If garry ever makes another Gmod style game I hope it's on Source 2, it just wouldn't feel the same on a non-source engine.
Source 2 seems to be the same in name only. Everything else is completely different with completely different formats. That's not a bad thing, but at this point Garry's Mod 2 could be in Unity for all I care.

He should consider using GameMaker.
