Also, not every game needs to be a sandbox. I'd rather have a linear game with an engaging story rather than a huge world with nothing interesting to do (e.g. Skyrim).
It doesn't necessarily scare me, since I know they'll be dealt with, but it's completely reasonable to be sad over the deaths. Just like how it is with any war.
My issue with this is the hypocrisy of it all. The response to a tradgedy is proportional to its media coverage. Nobody really cares about the ISIS attacks in Lebanon, nor any other atrocities that happened this week. But since it's the west and muslims are involved, the media goes nuts over it and then everybody else follows. Everybody tries to show that they're paying respects, users change their avatars and websites change their banners to the point where everything is oversaturated with this shit. People who we don't know die everywhere, hearing of their deaths might sadden us but in the end they don't affect our lives at all, so why are we acting like they do with Paris?

This isn't just simply unfortunate, it's a fucking disaster.
Except that this doesn't just happen in Paris.
Honestly, if the paris attack didn't happen, no one in the west would really give a shit except the Lebanese diaspora. People are just using the Beirut attack because they want to seem more morally righteous than the people mourning the Paris attacks.
Except that people die in these numbers in so many other places.
As bad as it sounds, the reason why people are so appalled is because violence on a large scale is somewhat expected in the middle east. Someone on reddit said something along the lines of, "snow in alaska isn't news, snow in florida is." Basically, because large scale violence is far rarer in the western world, a day like Friday is made all the more threatening to the west, because its getting closer to home.
If very well done, illusion of freedom in games can be better than real freedom.
the stanley parable is a great example of this, except the illusion of freedom is kinda turned on its head with the narration basically telling you what to do in most cases.
Inside Out is without a doubt the best Pixar movie. Only other one that's on the same level os The Incredibles.
1) You've said this like 3 times already 2) I disagree, I feel that Inside Out had a really poor message
its hard to beat up/walle/incredibles, though those are my favorite 3 inside out was good but it wasn't that good imo
Scorpion is less out of place in Smash Bros than Cloud.
Alright, here's a different Pixar one. Ratatouille is overrated and might be my least favorite Pixar film outside of Cars.
There's no way Ratatouille was worse than Monsters University. WALL-E is still the greatest Pixar movie for me.
black ops 3 is a great game and probably the best CoD game since mw2/waw if you look at how much content is in the game, how many features they added, and how polished it feels, it totally blew away my expectations and has basically start taking up all of my free time
Up was mediocre compared to the others in my opinion. EASILY has the best opening fifteen minutes, though.
I agree. Up had a really contrived villain.
Cars is still the worst. Even Cars 1
It's really difficult to take users seriously when their avatar is either an underage anime girl or a cropped porn picture.
Cars is still the worst. Even Cars 1
This is the unpopular opinions thread! But yeah Cars 1 was ehh and Cars 2 was just pure shit but it's k when Pixar does it.
It's really difficult to take users seriously when their avatar is either an underage anime girl or a cropped porn picture.
it seems like there has been a steady increase in porn/loli avatars lately and its driving me nuts
it seems like there has been a steady increase in porn/loli avatars lately and its driving me nuts
I think its less an increase, more that the people who have one are getting more zealous in posting and posting more frequently.
It's really difficult to take users seriously when their avatar is either an underage anime girl or a cropped porn picture.
Always great when some dude with a gross loli avatar comes into a serious thread with opinions such as "deport all refugees" and "i dunno maybe hitler had a point."
It's really difficult to take users seriously when their avatar is either an underage anime girl or a cropped porn picture.
Just remember the one golden rule and you'll be alright.
I just outright disabled all avatars.
Cars is still the worst. Even Cars 1
Transylvania 2 isnt as good as the first one.
same goes for ridiculous titles tbh, like that user with the manboobs title up there. Can't take anything he posts seriously.
same goes for ridiculous titles tbh, like that user with the manboobs title up there. Can't take anything he posts seriously.
In their defense, I'm pretty sure a good chunk of them didn't pick those titles themselves.
Having absurdly large titles is a design choice I still question the reasoning of to this day. It looks so ugly when someone takes up 1.5 screens worth of space to post 2 words.
Having absurdly large titles is a design choice I still question the reasoning of to this day. It looks so ugly when someone takes up 1.5 screens worth of space to post 2 words.
most of the time those titles are bought by a different person
if you dont like your title, you can PM robotboy and he'll remove it for you (but thats it, you dont get a new one, you dont get to change it. only have it removed)
In their defense, I'm pretty sure a good chunk of them didn't pick those titles themselves.
Whaaa that's craaaazy
it seems like there has been a steady increase in porn/loli avatars lately and its driving me nuts
Actually it seems to me like that shit is lower than it's ever been. A couple years ago back when WTYO was acceptable, so many people had avatars of girl's asses and shit.
Super Smash Bros used to be fun when the focus was to play casually with your friends. Now that the focus is on skill and competition rather than button mashing, I think anyone who plays it is a nolife. I think all competitive gaming is stupid and for nolifes as well. Also, excluding weight from muscles, I think there's a positive correlation between BMI and how much someone likes Metal Music. Likewise for neckbeard length The only two games I've put over a hundred hours into were pokemon Heart gold (which I did by completing the two main story lines rather than post-game gameplay), and Garry's Mod (which I did over the course of several years when I was a kid). I think most games are vapid and stupid. Gameplay is honestly not a redeeming factor to me if the art, story, and atmosphere of the game are shit. As a result, I only play a handful of games a year. Among my top 3 are Majora's Mask (over OOT because I hadn't played MM until I had grown up so it's newer for me), Beyond Good and Evil, and Analogue: A Hate Story (good art, awesome soundtrack, cool story telling. Not perfect but the overall atmosphere was very engaging) Pokemon is another game ruined by a focus on competition rather than the fun of the campaign. Also Pokemon X and Y sucked. I dislike the mechanics and I dislike non-tiled movement in a pokemon game. Idk if the new Ruby and Sapphire games had any mechanics like X and Y, but if they did I don't want to play them. Black and White were Okay but HG and SS were the last good ones IMO. Also if you understand EV and IV training you're probably not a very fun person to be around.
