got an opinion that has upset a few people before if you like csgo, i assume youre a wanna-be e-sports pro that wont ever make it big (but that certainly wont stop you) if you like tf2, i assume you just want to get rich off an unusual. if you care about hats, knives or weapon skins, i think less of you and your opinions. either one of those though, and i assume youre an annoying person to be around. ive had more than a few people just send me links to their inventory to show off their items as if i care. completely unwarranted too. we wont have been talking about it or anything, theyll just do it for no reason. usually i ignore it, but if it happens more than once, i unfriend them. [editline]17th November 2015[/editline] most of the people ive met that play csgo a lot are irritating assholes that arent fun to be around
the trading metagame is a cancerous mass on several franchises that used to be respected thanks valve! innovating the industry as usual.
by the way im saying this as someone with almost 6,000 hours of tf2
What if I just think CSGO is fun to play? :frown:
if you like csgo, i assume youre a wanna-be e-sports pro that wont ever make it big (but that certainly wont stop you)
But I'm just playing a game because I like the fun of it Why am i so bad
youre totally welcome to like whatever you want. if you play it, cool. if you like it, cool. if you constantly rub your inventory and MMR in my face, not cool. my problem is that ive run into a lot more people that feel the need to rub their shit in my face, than people that just play the game. really sours my opinion on the community bc of that.
if you care about hats, knives or weapon skins, i think less of you and your opinions.
Same goes for steam badges and cards and all that bullshit too.
i am definitely not a fan of the "new" valve what, with their lobbies (the cs:go lobby/menu is so cluttered compared to something like cs:s), and dota 2 internationals, and microtransactions... aye carumba, it makes me sick i feel like a lot of the people who disagree didn't play valve games before ~2009
Same goes for steam badges and cards and all that bullshit too.
definitely. i forgot about that, but i 100% agree with you. the more special you try to make your steam profile look, the more self-absorbed you end up looking. and i dont really care to associate with people that are full of themselves like that [editline]17th November 2015[/editline] to be fair though, i dont think dislike modern valve is too unpopular, at least on facepunch. but to their credit, they are exponentially more popular and wealthier now than they were before they made these changes
definitely. i forgot about that, but i 100% agree with you. the more special you try to make your steam profile look, the more self-absorbed you end up looking. and i dont really care to associate with people that are full of themselves like that
it's a genius marketing strategy if you think about it. people think that anything less than steam level 10 is shitty, because it's boring and gray, instead of shiny and red. so they spend their hard earned money on virtual bullshit to look cool for a bunch of people they will never meet in real life.

i always forget steam level even is a thing
i always forget steam level even is a thing
don't quote me on this, but i feel like people on your side of the globe don't eat what valve is shitting out as willingly as americans do
I really like Fallout 4. Which I feel is a pretty unpopular opinion on FP [editline]17th November 2015[/editline] Or at least very strongly contested
I thought the Halo 5 story was totally fine. It's a bridge story and I really don't know what people expected if that upsets them. And Fallout 4 is great, and I don't know why "it shouldn't be a Fallout game" is a thing because its totally fine as one. I feel it would've been worse as a standalone IP
Fallout 4 has all the Bethedsa problems that they usually have but it at least has better gameplay than Skyrim. But if you dare criticize it you'll bet met with "Well that's just the Bethedsa charm" "Imagine playing Bethedsa game for the story xD" "It's Gamebryo man!" It's not a bad game but it's not GOTY, not RPG of the year and Bethedsa is DEFINITELY not developer of the year.
im not excited for fallout 4. not even a little bit. i 100% do not care about it. i dont know why. i love 3 and nv when they came out, but 4 has completely failed to make me care any amount.

I feel it would've been worse as a standalone IP
I think the reason why many Halo fans were up in arms about H5s story is partly because of how misleading ALL of the promotional material for the game was. For christ sake, the tagline of the ad campaign was something like "the greatest hunt in video game history", and there was a fantastic ARG where the whole idea was ONI was spreading propaganda about the Chief. All of this set the game up to be all about deceit, and lies, and hunting the Chief, while practically none of that was in the actual campaign. Aside from this, the biggest issue is that the entire campaign was written by a comic book writer (who before wrote an official halo comic that randomly killed off the main villain of H4), which means it was fairly generic [sp]and also invalidated a lot of H4s good parts like the death of Cortana and how it affected chief[/sp]
I like that the Fallout 4 protagonist is voiced, it makes them feel like a part of the world instead of a roving text printer with arms. However, it would have been a hell of a lot better if there were multiple voices to choose from.
just think about how much time and money that would cost though
This seems to be an unpopular opinion on FP: I love HL2's gunplay. Arcadey shooting has a special place in my heart. I should try UT4...
Glasses don't make people look smarter. When I was younger, people would try on my glasses (obviously without asking) and always asked "do these make me look smart?" My friend did the same thing yesterday and I just sort of rolled my eyes. If I take my glasses off, I can't see anything 2+cm away from me. That doesn't make me look smart, I assure you. I look like I've just had a breakdown because I will be aimlessly flailing my arms, hoping I don't punch anyone.
just think about how much time and money that would cost though
youre silly if you think bethesda cant afford it

I'm not gonna go and say it's the worst game ever or anything, but I think they did some weird things that shouldn't have been things.
i always forget steam level even is a thing
I don't even know what it is.
I don't even know what it is.
It's just some stupid gamification bullshit to give stupid people an incentive to pay money for cards and such on the marketplace.
Cards, hats and skins are great because I can sell them for money, then buy games on Steam. Other than that they are pretty useless and boring.
"if youre under X level on steam, i wont add you because reasons" :downs:
You have to admit steam level is a good way to weed out phishers. If they are level 0 then they are probably a phisher.
