I'll talk about it here since it's been about a week or two after the shitstorm I caused in the Anita Sarkeesian thread.
I flat out stopped responding because people were straight up treating me like I was an idiot for my feminist views and my feminist questions. In the past, when I've taken the alternate side, I usually end up with a lot of agreeance..
You think this is because of your feminist views? That is hardly the case. Its because you have views that people disagree with. It has to do with them being feminist views.
Remixes suck. Whenever I get a special edition album I never listen to the remixes by other artists.
I really hate when I buy a CD and there are bonus tracks on it. If I listen to a good album I don't want your demo tracks, live recordings and other random shit to start playing right afterwards. It's like if if the deleted scenes started playing right at the end of a movie.
Also "hidden tracks" are fucking dumb. I mean when there's like five minutes of silence at the end of the album before another song starts playing. On a digital support like a CD I can see that the album is not over yet so what's even the point? It's not hidden at all, it's just annoying.
Magic does not exist.
It is however a form of hypnosis. You are indeed correct.
Its funny how everyone agrees magic isnt real but when someone says god/heaven/hell/angels/demons aren't real they become an edgey fedoramaster

I think its a response to how the view is held and presented. Not the answer it self.
Nothing wrong with white pride months. Just as silly as having pride based on any other skin tone.
White pride and, let's say, black pride are nothing at all alike, and they never have been. You must be joking with this statement.
Also, there's infinitely more to any kind of pride month/time of awareness than simply skin tone. So much more.

Unpopular opinions aren't unpopular if you get a lot of agree ratings.

i think this is because people who browse this thread seem to be generally likeminded (as most internet video game anime dorks are), so many of us hold the same unpopular opinions

1. Sex with kids should be legal as long as the kid says 'yes'.
2. We need to preserve white culture worldwide and ban non-whites and Jews from immigrating to our nations.
3. Touching women's genitals shouldn't be illegal because it's not physically hurting them.
4. I think it should be okay to kill and rape a person as long as you get permission from a judge.
5. Every citizen in this country should get a few million dollars, it will help the economy and people will be rich in the process.
There it is. The Big Five :sax:

Sex with children is legal as long you get them before the age of conception.
Sex with children after conception but pre birth should be considered home invasion.
Sex with children after the age of conception and after they are born, yeah you're a monster of a pervert and deserve to be shot.
Unpopular opinions aren't unpopular if you get a lot of agree ratings.
This isn't "Unpopular Opinions on Facepunch"; it's "Unpopular Opinions". Us agreeing with an unpopular opinion means it can still be unpopular outside of FP.
Those two agree ratings don't stand up to much in that context.
"Never judge a book by its cover" is a complete load of crap, we all judge and it is a completely redundant saying now.
"Never judge a book by its cover" is a complete load of crap, we all judge and it is a completely redundant saying now.
now i agree with you a bit, but you're wrong in choosing that saying, because "never judge a book by its cover" is more about "sometimes your judgements might be wrong" than "judging is bad"
Pokemon is repetitive and boring. I don't know if I've said this before, but when it comes to bad repetition, I'd say it's pokemon. Sure, every form of media entertainment, especially tv shows, is inherently repetitive because the audience is comfortable with watching the same formula over and over again. But I really think pokemon has always sucked because of how gratingly repetitive it is.
I think the games suck too.

As a person who likes the games, I agree. The anime is absolute ass.
At least, I'm assuming that's what you're specifically talking about. I think the same criticism can be levied against the games as well, though. I can understand and even agree with that thought to an extent, but yet I somehow manage to find enjoyment in the games anyway.

Yep, the repetition sucks. Sometimes I think, "Wow, how can anyone grow up playing these and still enjoy it? It's all the same!" and then here I am, enjoying the same kinds of games I've always played, for years and years, because I find the same kind of enjoyment in them.

Well, shit
Every time I think back to when I was a kid I can't help but question how I managed to tolerate such an incredibly boring, repetitive game.
I feel like a brute for it, but I don't like Puzzle games and turn based games and those kind of things
I think Turbulence shouldn't have won Saxxy Overall. Amazing animation and direction throughout, but the ending was sooo rushed and looked unpolished that it took me out of the immersion. The video winning overall at this year's Saxxy's shows that you don't need a completed product to win a competition, just keep it at five minutes and beat the deadline and you'll still win regardless of the quality.
Please don't kill me for this. I still liked the video, though I wish "It's Play Time" or"A Spark of Life" should have won.

it's pretty stupid that CoD always gets criticized for not having unique enough games yet pokemon continues to sell like hot cakes while not changing the formula at all except for nintendos absolutely despicable attempts at online interaction
pokemon's change is gradual because gamefreak is afraid the more critical fans will reject it.
surprise gamefreak: your critical fanbase still thinks G/S/C were the best and you haven't improved since.

like the only massive things i can think of that really added to the games are mega-evolutions and fairy type.

gamefreak pls don't feel afraid to step outside your comfort zone and experiment

Pokemon has developed to no end from start to finish.
Each new generation of games has brought something awesome to the table so your statement is actually completely false.

Gen 3: abilities (pretty fucking major)
Gen 4: Physical/special split (fucking huge)
Gen 5: ehhhh
Gen 6: Mega evolutions/fairy type (pretty good)
Also for those that think the games are boring you should try a nuzlocke run. I have yet to play a game that has given me more of an adrenaline rush other then nuzlocke running pokemon games sadly.
None of those are really changes to the core gameplay style, which I think is what most people who don't like the games are having a problem with.
On a base level, Pokemon hasn't really changed from how it started.

So I googled nuzlocke run, because it sounded weird. It sounds like a nice challenge in terms of pokemon. But I have a question for you, have you played Misery mod for STALKER? There's no greater a challenge than loading a save and struggling with yourself for liking how brutally miserable the game makes you.

The pokemon games have had changes in features and gameplay elements for years. CoD really hasn't changed much at all. Each new game is another FPS one-man army/lone wolf war game. It wasn't until recently that they started using elements from Unreal Tournament (the wall jumps, dashes, and other things). The zombie fighting is nice, but in what other game can't you fight against hordes of mindless enemies with friends?
Honestly one of the biggest things Pokémon needs right now is difficulty settings. They implemented them in BW2 but then they never came back, and they were implemented in the most ludicrous, roundabout way where if you wanted to play the whole game from the start on hard mode you had to have a friend send it to you from their game wirelessly, because you unlock it after you beat the game but for some reason if you start the game over, it's gone.
The games actually have a fair bit of strategic depth to them, but it's pretty much only relevant if you get into competitive multiplayer. Game Freak is too worried about having the games be too confusing for kids so they've made the single player campaigns super easy, where all you really need to complete them is a vague understanding of how type match-ups work and then you just basically spam super-effective moves or moves with high base power.

Sadly never got the chance to play stalker at all.
But eh I shoulda explained nuzlocke run rules shortly for the others.
Rule 1: The first encounter in any given route is the only pokemon you may catch in that route.
Forces a diverse team of pokemon you would probably not otherwise consider.
Rule 2: If a pokemon faints it is permanently dead and must be permaboxed.
This makes the game actually hard and forces you to think or die.
In my first run I got all the way to the champs final pokemon before having my only 2 remaining team members die. Almost no other game has the option for total failure after investing over 30/40 hours in it.
I seriously hope the next game is Z and not paired sequels again. If not then I'll be fucked over 3 years worth of being stuck on Gen V.
Though I can't deny Black 2 was amazing despite skipping BW1.
Black and White 2 was when I stopped playing Pokemon games. The story was pretty good and the main villain on that game was interesting. Ghethsis is pretty much one of my favorites villains in the entire series, right after Giovanni and Cyrus.
