I was never that much invested in the whole GOTY debate that takes place around this time every year, but this time around I'm really invested in seeing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt getting the title I really feel its developers DESERVE it
...? there is no GOTY title. Every two-bit publication and amateur review website has their own GOTY, and games have released GOTY editions regardless of whether or not they've won anything
I've yet to experience any errors.
Ok but most of everyone else has and that's a problem
and before you ask, no, i am not one of those people who have sexual fantasies with a fictional character.
Liar.
Liar.
It is impossible to make that statement without lying through your teeth
Liar.
it would honestly be pretty hard to have any realistic sexual fantasies with a fictional character with an unusually high-pitched voice and ridiculously long, blue pigtails that go down beyond their ankles
anime babe is an anime babe u can stick ur dongle into anything if u try hard enough
except it wouldn't feel nearly as comfortable knowing if they actually had realistic features. it's like fucking a humanoid dragon. of course it's possible, but it feels so extremely odd knowing how un-human like they are that you'd rather not just tap it at all.

There's nothing wrong with being attracted to a fictional character. What's wrong is if you start feeding your computer monitor spaghetti or celebrating the character's birthday irl.
There's nothing wrong with being attracted to a fictional character.
celebrating the character's birthday irl.
Now, where do you draw the line at that? Like, do you mean celebrating the fictional birthday, or the release of the piece of media? Like would it be weird to say "Happy Xth Birthday, Attack on Titan!"? Or do you mean "Happy Xth Birthday (AnimeGuy)"
Now, where do you draw the line at that? Like, do you mean celebrating the fictional birthday, or the release of the piece of media? Like putting a party hat on your monitor with your character in display, and a cake in front of it
Legitimately celebrating is weird, but doing it for the latter is a lot more weird than the former.
Yeah, what I meant was like, with me it'd be like "Happy 61st Birthday, Godzilla!" and I'd watch a Godzilla movie in "celebration". I guess you mean like, cake and all that
If you ain't celebrating godzilla's birthday then you're living a sad life tbh
the framerate on both consoles is mostly unplayable in diamond city, and on pc its always bad there, regardless of your setup there is at least 1 universal problem
I get 100+ all the time. Also running dual 970s tho. [editline]23rd November 2015[/editline] Even in Diamond city
diamond city isn't where the framerate drops, its downtown boston and the coastal area around it, it brings most machines to 20 and even the higher end ones (such as yours) to 50 if your dual 970s runs it fine it still doesn't mean it's not a problem regardless
Apparently using Nvidia's "Optimize" feature works really well. I remember having seriously bad framerate in any big city areas, then having literally no issues after using the optimization feature.
Apparently using Nvidia's "Optimize" feature works really well. I remember having seriously bad framerate in any big city areas, then having literally no issues after using the optimization feature.
the optimize feature isn't anything special. it's basically nvidia's version of when a game defaults settings based on your hardware.
Fallout 4s performance has been good for me except in the financial district where I have got some really annoying framerate drops
diamond city isn't where the framerate drops, its downtown boston and the coastal area around it, it brings most machines to 20 and even the higher end ones (such as yours) to 50 if your dual 970s runs it fine it still doesn't mean it's not a problem regardless
Actually forgot that I had horrible fucking issues at the start, averaging twenty FPS. Then when I put the game into borderless fullscreen, everything worked perfectly. Dunno why.
the optimize feature isn't anything special. it's basically nvidia's version of when a game defaults settings based on your hardware.
Except for some reason it fixed issues in Fallout 4. I have no idea why. I can even change the settings it set, and the issue is still gone. I don't know what it did, but it worked.
the framerate on both consoles is mostly unplayable in diamond city, and on pc its always bad there, regardless of your setup there is at least 1 universal problem
There's also the one about enemies flying the fuck away, and while I'm not one to condone "beth charm", it's rather humorous and harmless for the most part
Except for some reason it fixed issues in Fallout 4. I have no idea why. I can even change the settings it set, and the issue is still gone. I don't know what it did, but it worked.
So what you're saying is that [sp]it just works[/sp]
if you want 60fps you have to change "itjustworks=0" into "itjustworks=1"
I think The Witcher 3 is overrated. Like, I get that the world is huge and all, and there's a ton of quests to do. But, the gameplay is clunky, the framerate is shit, and weapons and armor break every five minutes. I wish they would've streamlined things a little more.
I find violence in games is becoming increasingly less fun, and more and more wish I didn't actually have to do it. I don't think it should go away, but I do think it should maybe stop being our stand-by. I think violence is in its own way hindering video game storytelling when in most games no matter what the narrative is it always has to return to shooting people, or punching people, or slashing and stabbing people. It sets up weird contradictions where characters often murder dozens of innocent people but have the gall to feel sad when somebody dies because they liked that person, and the game expects you to feel sad too. This is most frustrating to me in RPGs where it's often impossible not to kill people throughout the game and so lots of game mechanics, like, say, alchemy, will be aimed more towards that combat rather than towards other things. I love it when games like New Vegas give me the option to pacifist my way through the entire game, even if it probably wasn't the intention. I spend most of my time in Oblivion and Skyrim wandering around, picking ingredients, doing alchemy and buying selling goods, and I wonder why the whole game can't be based around that instead of killing bandits. Even though I'm not very far in it, I think what Undertale has cemented in my mind is that you can very well base a game full of conflict around non-combat. I've already had a lot more memorable experiences interacting with characters and dissuading conflict through talking, flirting, and other stuff than I've had in any of the dozens of shooting galleries in other games.
I feel that RPG or character driven games should put violence as the last-chance-texaco alternative to hashing it out. Will I still play Chainsaw Triceratops 3 or whatever? Yeah, of course I will, but if I want a game with an engaging story it shouldn't revolve entirely around violence. I dunno, that's why I liked the Black Ops 1 and 2 stories, because it was more about the intrigue in the cutscenes instead of "Rrrr guns"
and on a similar note, i think we should have more big budget comedy games [editline]23rd November 2015[/editline] perhaps not too similar
I think Tumblr is a little bit more, what's the word, I guess shitty, than people lead you on to believe. That might be unpopular or popular, who knows. The two major beliefs on Tumblr is that it's a haven for SJWs that can't even and are ridiculously extremist, and the other is that it's a blank slate of a website where it can be anything you want, and therefore is not about that at all. Two days ago I posted on Tumblr about safe spaces in Claremont, notably how it concerned me that the College seemed to be instituting and supporting areas of buildings being blocked off to whites at certain times when it would be a safe space for colored people, and then those spaces were also asking (read: telling) people to not invite white people, even if they're allies. I think racial segregation is fundamentally wrong and so I voiced that. I didn't even dismiss the idea of safe spaces as they are. What followed was 1,100 notes and counting where I was shit on by virtually everyone and told virtually everything. I was told that I had no idea that I was talking about, that I can't comment on race issues because I'm white, that I'm the reason safe spaces exist. I was called a racist, I was told I was full of white entitlement, and I was told to kill myself. I was told that I needed to just listen to what black people said because I'm white and therefore just have to accept what they tell me to believe. I was told by white people reeking of that weird submissiveness that I needed to 'stuff my pride' and accept what they tell me to believe. It wasn't really a good time when I was very emotionally vulnerable and dealing with suicidal feelings and shit. After I got my shit back together, I realized sitting in a shoutbox of people who weren't listening to me, talking down to me, and generally using the power of shouting to suppress any arguments I had, that people who believe in the concept of a safe space where one can decompress and not feel threatened or worried at all are ironically very violently adamant about their beliefs and willing to hurt people to get what they want, or willing to challenge their world view. They're militant bullies. I made one last post declaring my feelings on the whole thing and the first worded reply, and this is an exact quote, said "This post reeks of white entitlement. White people literally lack the ability to empathize." That told me everything I needed to know about who I was dealing with. What all that shit taught me was that one, the people who deal with these fuckers on college campuses every day in the big protests deserve some serious respect for the shit they put up with, and two, that Tumblr is indeed host to a huge portion of people that embody the stereotypes people hate on it for. There are extremist progressives there in huge numbers and if you run afoul of them even a little bit, they will dogpile you. It bleeds through the site's entire identity. People on Tumblr talk in a very weird way, they believe a lot of the same things, and their mindsets will bleed through even if you strive to avoid them. There's a definite kind of post and content that succeeds on Tumblr, and there's definite ideas that you're going to get shit for not having. It is not a safe place and it doesn't promote free thinking because if you go against the majority view of the website you'll get ignored or shit on. It's full of people who claim to hate bullies but bully anyone they view as not progressive enough. Most of all, Tumblr is an online community like any other. That is to say, it's a shitpile full of awful people that harass, bully, and spew garbage everywhere. Tumblr might be what you make of it but that's just for the most part, and it can't escape being shit like every other online community ever. And it's not even the least shit, far from it. And man, I'd debate dumbasses on Facepunch for days rather than deal with them for 5 minutes.
-somethingsomethingtumblr-
This made me remember I had a Tumblr and I went to log on to it to check out if anything had happened. [t]http://i.imgur.com/XjB8kNn.png[/t] Fockin' wat
Tumblr
I once made an Anschluss joke on Tumblr and was then told I am not allowed to make jokes about WWII.
