The United States isn't an evil world power, and Americans aren't dumb. I know it sounds weird, but a lot of people in the UK think like this.

I don't hate kids. I want my own some day.
I don't really know that I believe in the concept of something being overrated or underrated. I kinda think saying either means you're basically saying people are misinterpreting their own opinions. At the very least I think the majority of people who claim something's overrated are mostly just saying "I don't like this"
I think Mass Effect 2 is a better game than Mass Effect 1
I think Mass Effect is just plain boring. I tried to play it over and over again. I've got about 20 hours in the original, and I just can't enjoy it. Something about the world just fails to captivate me at all. I wish they'd make another KotOR game instead.
I bought all 3 Mass Effects and hated them all. I love a good narrative but good god I bought a game not a novel please let me play a game. I had the same experience with KotOR too, where the extremely extensive dialogue instantly killed the experience and made it feel like a school book report because I spent money on it and felt obligated to push forward. To clarify I bought them as a package deal not each release date.
Mass Effect had a better story, but Mass Effect 2 had far superior gameplay and the stakes seemed a little bit higher by the end. Both are great, but I wouldn't blame someone for being disappointed in the first game.
I'm not disappointed in it, I think all three games are great. Mass Effect just feels too unpolished compared to 2. And the game world seems too empty. It's okay when the uncharted planets feel empty, because they should, but even the Citadel seems lifeless
On a happier note though (I think this opinion isn't too unpopular) Crash Bandicoot is one of the best franchises I can remember, while alternatively Spyro was boring as hell
Tripwire's addition of microtransactions is potentially better (dependent on drop-rate) than the DLC shilling practices evident in KF1. It's just they introduced the news at a poor time.

It fails in games such as Payday 2 because not only have you already paid for the game but you may have also paid for the truck full of DLC. I'd much rather pay £5 on a pack of skins that I know that I'm getting than pay anywhere between £1.50 to £3 for a skin I may not even like.

It's just they introduced the news at a poor time.
The DLC in Killing Floor 1 was introduced long after the game was more or less finished, and few of the DLC weapons were better in any way. Killing Floor 2 is going to have a piss-poor crate system, introduced before the game has been even finished. Not only that, but they are calling regular updates "Free Content Packs" which has a terrible aura around them, suggesting that in the future even basic content will be locked behind a paywall. Tripwire is a terrible company, Red Orchestra 2 should have proved that to everyone.
RO2 was great though
clearly the skinner box belongs in every game of every genre don't you guys see
RO2 was great though
Yes. Long after release when crippling bugs took months to fix.
Well I don't hate half life 2, but it can get really REALLY annoying and off-putting when you get stuck and don't know how to get to the next area that you're supposed to get to.
Fortunately in Skyrim, I haven't seen that many Daedra or the like in any of my playthroughs. Most have been pretty faithful to the whole Nordic theme. I won't need the best armour or weapons in a game because I don't create my own characters in video games. I always use an existing character similar to the game's setting.
Power armor in any incarnation has consistently been the least interesting part of Fallout games
Nintendo should look into an M-rated Zelda iteration; would allow for a darker setting (Not dark as in brown and bloom. Twilight Princess already has enough of that)
Half-Life 2 seemed kind of pointless, don't get me wrong it's one of the best games I've ever played, but the story is so far removed from Half-Life 1 that it seems like it should have been a totally different franchise. I guess Valve continued the series because they knew "Half-Life 2" with Gordon Freeman would sell better than "Combine Rebellion" with someone else.
RO2 was great though
Ostfront is better in every single way. Better maps, modding tools, weapons, accuracy, etc.

The entire main cast, leader of the Combine's earth operations, and rebellion all happen to be former co-workers of Freeman's for no real adequate reason. Also, everyone treats Gordon like he's the messiah to lead the rebellion to victory but he never really did anything that made him worthy of that praise. Most people he tried to save died and what big acts he did do nobody was really there to see.
I dislike exaggerated designs in any media that tries to take itself seriously. Like I hate designs like this [thumb]http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111209055251/elderscrolls/images/2/26/Daedric_Armor_(Skyrim).jpg[/thumb] .
On one hand, I do like the Daedric armor. The Daedra are a race of demonic entities in another plane of existence and their terms of practical are leagues above us in how bizarre and over-the-top they are.
And the weapons, christ. Do your kitchen knives at home have curvy spikes that poke backwards into your hand?
On the other hand, that IS really awful. The Daedric Swords and Axes in Skyrim are pushing it as well. You'd never believe me that some of those replica "fantasy swords" will fetch a price up to $200! That price for a piece of brittle Stainless Steel that's meant to hang on your wall. For that amount, way not get an actual sword?

It's the shoulder spikes that bother me.
I like the style of the Morrowind Daedric the best. Still demonic looking without going all spikes and greeble. [T]http://i.imgur.com/fg2N8iO.jpg[/t]
